My dishwasher will not work

Check all sensors / latches on the door and frame. If they are not aligned or if there is any debris this could cause the dishwasher to not start but to still have power.

Probably a bit late for the original poster, but I found this page after searching with the same problem. You can actually fix this yourself. I had exactly the same problem - if you take the front off the dishwasher, the switch module is inside a grey plastic moulding. If you remove the two cable plugs and remove the two screws holding the moulding in you can then take it out. Carefully open it by pulling back the clips, and inside is a small circuit board that slides out. On one side are the two microswitches. I got mine working again with some switch cleaner. If that doesn't work, you should be able to get a new switch soldered on by any electrical repairer. Obviously, yours may be slightly different as I don't know what model dishwasher you have, but mine is a Howden's/Lamona too, so it's probably very similar. Good luck.

it will most likely be a door switch issue, to test it you need to remove the front door panel and bridge out the switch, if it works then you need to replace the switch,

I have had this problem with a different make of dishwasher. The light came on but then it did not work.
It turned out to be the water had been turned off to the dishwasher.
Check your water supply is on!

Is it flashing ER in the front? If so you need a console touch pad .

When you keep the button pressed for a few seconds the lights go off, this resets the dishwasher. Then press the p button again to the program you want 1st light is heavy soil 2nd light is normal soil, 3rd light is eco wash, 4th light is rinse. At the end of the cycle the program light you have selected will flash.

silly question but did you try holding the control lock button(perhaps its the heated dry button) in for 3 secs???? sonds as if the CONTROL LOCK has benn activated( child lockout)

It appears that your door switch is intermittently working. Make sure that the switch clicks on and off when you gently press on the release door lever. It you don't here a distinct click sound then you'll have to go into the door switch and do a little filing on the plastic bar so it does not bind with the depressing of the switch. It is very simple to take apart and put back together.

ok under the bottom kick-plate you will find a tech sheet first id start with where my power comes in under the kick plate second remove the front panel and check the door switches third check the control for a fuse or burned wires resistors etc refer to the tech sheet but it sounds to me like a power problem
