Is this an aftermarket or OEM alarm? What vehicle if it is OEM.

Most alarm modules will be found near the steering column or vehicle ignition switch.

SOURCE: Hi, I've a Bosch remote

If just a remote has failed (the other works perfectly) then the problem is with it, not the system - that remote has died. You will have to buy another one from sites that deal in second hand parts/ classifieds , like Ebay and Craigslist, and reprogram the system to accept it. You will need to provide the exact model number of your system if you want the correct replacement remote and the exact procedure for registering the remote.
If you don't know the model number or you can't find another remote then you will need to completely replace the system. - it won't cost too much, a simple system with installation will cost you less than $150.

Why doesn't remote start work?

It says its a Viper alarm system. . If the alarm system is active, reprogramming the ignition keys was a waste of money. The problem is in the control box for the viper alarm system. It has disabled the ignition because it thinks that is being broken into. there are sensors that monitor the the vehicles vibration and is probably a problem with one of the sensors or maybe even the control box itself.

How to Program Keyless Entry Remotes in a Hyundai Sonata By Christian Killian, eHow Contributor
20Found This Helpful The keyless entry system in your Hyundai Sonata is part of the factory alarm system. If you have to replace a lost or damaged remote, reprogramming will be necessary. The remote is important because not only does it lock and unlock the doors, it also arms and disarms that factory alarm when you open or close your car doors. New remotes are available from any Hyundai dealer. While they will program it for you, you can do it yourself and save a programming fee.

Step 1: Locate the fuse panel under the dash on the driver's side of the car. Just below it is the control module for the factory alarm system. Open the cover on the alarm system control module and locate the memory switch inside.
(Kleophaus Livingston/Demand Media) Step 2: Verify that the switch is in the "Off" position; if it is not, switch it to the "Off" position. This is important for the system to understand what you want it to do when you move to the programming mode.

Remote controll not working not

The best thing to do is:

1- Replace the battery that is located on the back of the remote. If nothing happens then;

2- Try reprogramming the remote control with the car. if you have the original manuals, then it will precisly tell you how to reprogram your remote to successfully communicate with the alarm module in the car.

The problem could also be the Alarm module receiver.

hope that helps. Let me know.

Battery is dead on the remote and cant turn alarm off if i change the battery does it have to be reprogramed?

just replace your battery you have a central control module, that stays programmed, the only way you need to get it reprogrammed is if you take it out and put it in another car

My valet remote control RPN491 Starts vehiclr and unlocks doors but will not lock doors do I need to reprogram remoteto unlock doors?

Ok you said "unlock doors' but you said it already unlocks the doors. This remote should lock and unlock door on same button, if you are describing the 2 button remote. If it is not then it could be alot of things. Does the alarm lock itself? Does the alarm lock the door when you turn on the ignition? More info is really needed. Like what veh and what model alarm.

I have a car fitted with a Clifford GS 470 alarm but I cant get the alarm to stop. The car that this alarm was fitted in has not been started in 5 months and so the battery ran flat. I replaced the battery...

you might have to replace the batteries in the remotes. The reason why the alarm is going off because once you plug power back to the alarm brain it sets the alarm off and the only way to make it stop is to hit the unlock button the remote. Make sure all connections on the alarm brain are good and try changing the batteries in the remotes. also might have to reprogram the remotes to the brain if it has been sitting for awhile.
