My washer does this too and I called Maytag and was told it was normal. I don't like that answer, though.

SOURCE: Hello, On Neptune washer serial # 34098916EF,

You have a bad water fill valve. Until you get it fixed shut water valves off at the wall so that you don't have a flood if the fill valve on the machine fails completely. Let me know if there is anything else I can Help you with.

SOURCE: I have a Maytag Neptune front loading washer,

Yes. The tan/gray colored inner ring attatched to the inner wash tub actually has a calcium chloride solution in it to aid in balancing the machine out during spin. Clothes go to one side, liquid to the other. It's all good. It is sealed so it cannot leak out or create odors.
Hope this answers your question!

Washer tub has water but it will not drain

If you are refering to the sloshing sound when tub is moved back and forth it is supposed to be there. That is the balance ring. It is a liquid filled ring at the top of the tub that acts as a counter weight to keep tub balanced.

Hello, The earlier Maytag Neptune front loaders have a balance ring on the inner tub that has liquid in it and that causes the sloshing sound when you turn the tub by hand. That is normal.

I noticed that you have a MAH3000... Have you replaced your door latch wax motor yet? If not, it will fail and damage your control board located behind the timer. See NeptuneHelpSong for a video that explains the failure.

I hope this helps...

Need to drain the tub before moving

It should all be drained out of there except a little in the hose. The sloshing sound you hear in there is not old water or stored up water. It is a liquid in a balancing ring that is sealed shut but it sounds like the water is in the tub. The best way to get all the water out is to take a wet vac and **** out the water from the drain hose. Just put you hand around the 2 hoses to kind of seal it and lay it on the floor. Nothing more is really needed to move it. Just don't be too wild moving it around lol. Front load machines are usually very heavy becuase they have cement or heavy pieces to keep the basket from moving around too much in a high speed spin. Good luck

Water stuck...

There is an internal overflow hose to prevent water from getting onto the motor and other electrical components. It sounds like the overflow system did its job.

The water you hear is likely one of two things: a small amount of water that is still in the tub, under the basket, which is nothing to worry about. Or, you are hearing the fluid (that is supposed to be there) in the balancer.

My Kenmore Elite He3 sounds like it has water in the tub after washing AND smells of MOLD?

there is always some water left inside the machine and that is probably what you are hearing are you using liquid detergent? if so this is almost certainly the cause of the smell. liquid detergent leaves a nasty slime inside thge machine and smells like drains. put on a boil wash with no clothes and revert to using powder detergent
