Cables from the cable box are red/white/yellow. Ports on the back of the TV are red and white audio IN and red, green,blue on back of TV. I connected red and white to red and white audio IN and the yellow to the blue video IN. when I turned tv on to run auto setup, it does not find ANY channels. I have moved the cables on the back of the cable box, because it worked with the old tv. no combination of moves on the back of the TV result in any channels being found on auto setup.Source on TV is set to cable. Cable is from Metrocast. what am i doing wrong???
Try yellow cable into the green y input.

If the green port doesn't work I read on another forum that
you may be able to use a dvd recorder unit to take the av in and then it can re transmit the video to an output as component out on some dvd recorders.

Like above, use an optical connection (need fiber optic cable) or a coaxial connection (single RCA cable). HDMI might also work, but I personally haven't checked. Connect the audio outs from the cable box to the audio ins on the home theater. The TV will only need a video connection from the cable box, as well as one from the home theater (for DVDs, onscreen menus).

HI:
You are using a new HD Cable box, that are using componet video cables for HD, Unfortunetly this receiver does not have componet inputs, so you will just have to run the audio from the televison directly to the receiver by connecting the video out and audio out from the television to the receiver's video Input one. This will require a normal RCA composite cables yellow,red,white. Connect one end of each of the cables to televisions output terminals, and the other to the input one on the receiver. Note: Your TV might have a seperate term called Monitor out, Connect the yellow here, and the red and white to audio out. You can do the same for the DVD but you have to use the same cables,Also the television will not display HD picture this way as this is not a HDTV Receiver. If you just want TV sound to the receiver then do not use the video(Yellow) cable just use the audio out terminals from the tv and connect to Input one on the receiver. you can do this with the cable box also but you have to use RCA type cables . If you want the full HD experience then a new up todate receiver is necessary.
