How big should the washer be to wash a queen size comforter?

So the answer is that it is impossible to tell you. However, lets make some guesses.

If you have a compact apartment type machine, no because it is just TOO small.

If it is a top loader, the answer is no, because the agitator won't move it, because it is all one piece.

If it is a full size front loader, maybe. As long as there is warm water, it will refresh and clean it. You say properly though. To clean 'properly' to get rid of soil, or needs to have room to tumble in the water. For that you need an industrial size machine at a launderettes, or take it to your local dry cleaner, they can dry or wet clean.

The comforter is too big for these washers. But it sounds like you may have taken out the motor coupler. It's an easy fix. If that's not it, then the transmission broke. But it is more than likely the coupler.

Pi,r,squared times height. Remember math back when we didn't have computers? So that's 3.14 x radius(half the distance across drum)squared(times itself) times height or depth of drum. Remember to do radius times itself first, then Pi, then height.

It really depends on how big the drum is. It needs room to wash properly, so if there is no room - I would say it's too big.

Try your local laudarette - they have industrial machines that are designed for large items, so to save yourself a repair bill - just use them.

I tried washing a queen size comforter in my washer and blew the boot out of it. 250.00 repair bill. Go to laundymat!
