Good Morning Nancy,
I understand that the door will not open on your Electrolux washer, model# EWFLS70JSS0. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging your appliance or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and the door should unlock. Try any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.
-Best Regards-

nope sorry but all front load washers are built with a locking system on the door and that makes them impossible to change the door swing.
the only thing you can do is move the washer and dryer position by getting longer hoses and venting so you can have the washer on the left and the dryer on the right.

I have an Electrolux front loading washer. I just got done washing a load of laundry and the door will not unlock. I tried washing it for a second time thinking maybe it would open again. No luck.

When this happened in our home, we unplugged the machine, waited then plugged it in again. This reset the machine and the door immediately unlocked

To get the front off. (All screws look to be #2 Phillips Screws)
1. You have to unscrew (2) phillips screws from the back that holds the top on.
2. Slide the top off. (slide towards the back)
3. Then where the control panel is there is about 4-6 screws holding that plastic piece on, take those out this will allow you to pull the control panel up and out of the way.
4. At this point you can unscrew the 4-6 screws in the door area that holds the front of the washer on, once you unscrew those screws there is a tab that you have to lift the front over to pull the front off. This will allow you access to the locking mechanism.
5. There are only 2 screws holding te locking mechanism on.
Hello Elizabeth P Cochran - Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart unit. If the door does not open, then it sounds like the washer is possibly experiencing a communication problem with the control board, wiring failure or faulty door lock. Contact a professional to move forward accurately to properly diagnose/repair unit.
