Well, of all the problems, you selected an easier one! Your four-pronged cord has two straight lugs on it. These are "HOT". You also have two more lugs, one is round, and one is "L" shaped. Those two are "ground". Here's how they attach. Inside the rear of your machine are 3 screws/nuts in a row. The outside 2 screws/nuts are both HOT, and it doesn't matter whether the red wire goes to the left one or the right one. Same with the black wire. Goes to the left or the right. The center screw/nut is for the white ground wire. The other wire (maybe green or maybe blue) should be attached to the side of the hole where the wire enters the dryer. That one should be put under a screw on the side of the hole, fastened to the "case" or the body of the dryer. Be blessed.
Make sure that onw wire is coneected to the top bar and one wire connected to the bottom bar. DO NOT connect both wires to one bar, it make short out the control circuit. Go to

Same thing just happened to my DEGX1. I took it apart and one of the
heating elements had broken and fell to the bottom of the metal case.
I think it was creating a short to ground and making it heat. I
removed the broken element wires and attached them back best I could
and did a test run with no problems. It is not heating when off now
either. searspartsdirect.com had the elements for $67 so I ordered a
set and will replace both of them (part #395583).
My dryer is only 4 years old and 3 weeks ago the driver belt broke.
Irritating they can't make them last any longer these days.
Hi, the lights are signaling a control fault the is concerning the logic sector of the control board/timer. you will need to make sure that the wiring harness is connected to all points and it should be in good condition. if there are no apparent issue with the wiring harness, replace the control.
That appliance is fairly complicated. If you want to service it yourslef, my honest answer is to get the factory service manual from fisher paykel. You can get it here:
