My scanner has quit working for some reason. It says I need to change the scanner actions under the HP Printer software on my computer in order to be able to scan. I cannot for the life of me find where to manage the scanner actions on my computer. Can you give me some direction as to where to find this so I can manage the settings and get back to scanning? I have an HP laptop running Windows 7, if that makes any difference. Thanks so much.

You need to start the HP software that's installed on your PC.
In Win XP, go to Start menu, look down the list of installed programs, and click on HP Director to start it up. Your scanner should work now, either from the scan buttons on the printer, or from the scan options within HP Director.

scanning through bluetooth is not possible
bluetooth module only pairs the computer and printer and has link only to the basic driver of the computer
so you can only print from it
if you want to scan you should connect te usb cable or use a wireless upgrade kit

If you have the Win7 full-feature driver installed, try installing the Software Patch. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-77751-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&os=4063&product=3737195
If you managed to get the minimal driver set or the OS driver, uninstall that and disconnect the printer from the computer and install the full featured software
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=4063&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=3737195
If you can't download the full file and get an installation error from an incomplete file due to connection errors, the link to the full software above also has a link to order a new CD with the drivers.
Sometimes the scan error (when the printer itself works) indicates that the HP monitor isn't running (due to incomplete install or turning off the program (not letting it run at boot, for example). The other cause is a poor connection since scanners need bi-directional communication with the computer. Try a new data cable, plugging into a different port. If you have a print server or USB hub, try a direct connection.
I hope this helps.
