Get a new or used CD/DVD Drive

Hi,

This is already a mechanical problem on dvd drive. Try upgrading optical dvd drive firmware from Dell's support website. Then, download and install IMG BURN. Run img burn. The software will perform a test. If the problem persists, have your optical dvd drive replaced.

Dell studio 1537 making grinding noice during burning process.and burning will not complete.

this happens while on windows right? so try outside windows. what i mean is restart computer then keep tapping on f2 to boot in bios setup. then from there insert the cd/dvd check still has the problem. if yes they follow these steps http://tinyurl.com/ya7q9b

still not fix try to loosen the screws from the bottom part of the laptop. if still fails then have dvd drive replaced.

You may have to restart your computer so the hardware can work.

Uninstall the Dell Dock!

your ODD, Optical Disc Driver, have optic component for read your disc. May be your optic broken. Buy new one. Make sure first, you rent some DVD movies, and play to your ODD. And open some softwares, like a PowerDVD.

find a thin stick but must be verry thin.  you will see a small hole in DVD uniit.  put the stick in it your dvd will eject.
