Are you checking the simple things such as making sure you have the presser foot up when you thread and the tensions set between 4 and 6, bobbin in the correct way round and tension enough to pull the thread through with some resistence.

My Memory Craft 7000 sometimes does the same thing, if it's very cold. Try warming it up by placing it near a heat source, a vent or a floor heater, for a few minutes. Then it works perfectly.
I've used these machines for over 20 years now, and they're my favorite!

If this doesn't solve your problem, you need to take it in for servicing.

They are work horses, but they do need their maintenance from time to time.

I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: adjusting the dogs on memoery craft 9700

are you trying to drop them for embroidery ? look at the back, behind the bobbin area, there should be a lever. my 9000 also has the option to use ADJ and the grphic for the feed dogs come up. on the 9000, they disengage automatically when you go to embroidery mode. I hope this helps

Where is the memorycraft 7000 new home/janome re set button please

Don't you have a manual? If not, try unplugging and waiting 10 seconds and plug it in again. There is also a clear button. I saw a great demonstration of this machine on www.youtube.com, looks like a very nice machine.

Memory Craft 7000 making terriable noise

the machine is showing it doesn't need oiling or the manual says
it's a self oiling machine?
if the machine is self oiling the DON"T oil the machine.
if you think the noise is from the tension dial,, the try using a can of
air or unwaxed dental floss on the tension dial if you have access
to the tension dial.
or the machine may need to be checked to find why it's making the
noise. the machine may just need some adjustments or a tune-up
depending on when the machine has been serviced last.
