Hello and welcome. Couple things to check first-
Tip the machine back and look underneath at the water pump, if it is wet or appears crusty/corroded, you probably have a shorted pump that took the machine control out along with it. Sometimes you can just replace the pump but on those models the board can become a casualty. Also look at the control itself and check for water in the pan area underneath it. Sometimes the mixing chamber thermistor leaks and it will short out the machine control. Whenever you replace the control, a new seal should be put on the thermistor. (easy and cheap insurance)

Hi, It is due to a split in the flexible hose from the bowl to the pump. When machine is working, the split opens and closes, but when not operating it can be closed up enough to prevent seeing it leaking. .
