SOURCE: Gas Dryer - takes to long to dry

Friend,
huuum At your service!

Sometimes this can happen when the vent line is clogged.

1. Check if the lint filter is full and needs to be cleaned.
Try this first. If the vent line is kinked or blocked
2. Then check if the outside screen covering the exhaust vent if this is even half blocked
with lint there will be no heat! This screen is to keep small animals out!
Try checking this and if it is clogged or the spring loaded door is stuck closed.
Try to clean the lint out of the corners of the flap door,
and or remove the screen permanently!
NO ANIMALS LIKE TO GET BURNT,IT'S HOT IN THAT TUBE!
Take the vent line off the rear of the dryer and try if it works. If it does you know it's the vent line and not the dryer that's the problem the dryer.

You will be fine
Bless You huuum

SOURCE: Whirlpool Gas Dryer keeps running on auto dry setting

When you moved the sensor wire on the moisture sensor may have fallen off.
Remove the front panel and locate the wire and the connection. It will be on the right side near the lint filter vent. If it is still connected your timer has gone bad.

SOURCE: Does not dry the clothes.

On the blower housing in the rear is a duct fuse. If the dryer gets stopped up that fuse will blow and kill the gas assembly so I always check that first. Then If that is kosher I check the flame sensor for continuity. if it is open the ignitor and coils won't work. if it turns out to have continuity I next will check the ignitor for continuity. If it is open then nothing can happen right? If the dryer runs and the ignitor glows, shuts down and heats for a short time and then quits then that is the operator coils. mainly the one with 2 wires comes on and stays on most of the time the dryer is calling for heat. the coils come in a pair for $20. On this page I am going to post a better explanation is given with pictures. above the page is a few more links that are helpful. More gas dryer enlightenment

The dryer isn't drying clothes properly after a 60 minute cycle. How can the heat be adjusted?

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.
