How to remove back access panel to may tag epic z washer

I have a may tag epic that was flashing

Error code SD/5d means LONG DRAIN. This error appears when the drain time exceeds 8 minutes and the water valves turn off. After 4 minutes the "Sd" error will be displayed, and then 4 minutes later the F21 error code will be displayed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear the display. Please Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. If the drain hose if fine then unplug the washer and check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects. To access the drain pump and filter remove the front kick panel and trace the drain hose to the bottom of the washer, drain pump would be located there. If you are not able to access it, then replace the back panel as well. Plug in washer or reconnect power. If the issue is still not resolved then you would need to replace the drain pump. Unplug or disconnect power to the machine and access the electronic control board. Remove the screws in the back of the top panel, then lift the back of the top panel and slide back to remove.

The electronic control board is located on the left side near the top. It's very common for that part to fail. Look on the back side for a burned or scorched mark near the relays.

Measure the resistance between P1-3 and P1-4. If the resistance is between 1-6 ohms, replace the control board. If not check the belt switch for continuity.

Check the motor windings at the motor switch. Disconnect the motor connector. Measure the run/main windings between the blue wire in back and the white/orange wire (2.4-3.6 Ohms). Measure the start windings between the blue wire in back and the Violette wire (2.4-3.8 Ohms).

Lift the idler pulley up and measure between the two blue wires to check the belt switch.

The drain filter is located in the pump behind front bottom panel. Disconnect power and remove the three screws attaching the lower front access panel to the cabinet then pull the panel down and off the cabinet. You can prop up the bottom front edge of the washer or cushion and lean it against the wall to access and remove the screws more easily. Once the panel is off, remove the filter by turning the knob counterclockwise. Clean the filter from any debris that prevents water from draining out properly.

If you are referring to a Whirlpool Duet, Kenmore Elite or Maytag Epic series FRONT LOADER, each one of these washers comes with a technical data sheet inside.

To access, you will need to remove the lower toe panel under the door. The access screws are located under the bottom front edge of the panel. You may have to prop the two front feet of the washer up for better access ( a 2x4 works well for this). With the screws removed, the panel should drop down, then come off. If the tech sheet isn't directly behind the panel, it will be affixed to one of the interior cabinet walls.

The tech sheet lists all error code definitions, troubleshooting data, diagnostics procedures and WIRING DIAGRAMS.

Is it filling with water?

Hi, The belt must have came off. Remove the access panel in the front and see if the belt broke. If the belt is off, see if there is an access panel in the rear that will help you get to the belt easier.

Hello, unplug the washer remove the lower front access panel, get to the switch and pull downward on the circullar shaped release tab. Now drain the machine manually, take the filter out of the pump and clean out. reassemble and test. good luck

The button on my Epic version is called the "Cycle End Signal" button.  I pressed it for 3 seconds and the "control locked" light went off and the washer started.  This button is on the far right, just like premm said, near the "Off" button.

you will have to take off the front off washer to put it back correctly.

remove the top panel 3 screws in top rear
remove the bottom panel 3 screw in bottom front
remove the top led control panel 3 screw or more along front lip
if you disconnect any wiring mark it well .
now the front of washer can be removed with or without the door (your choice)
careful with the door lock wiring.
be sure to unplug the washer.
while you are in the innards its a good time to wipe around the drum any buildup of soap etc..
and to clean the filter trap in the bottom access tube below drum.
