I have a LG frontload washer model #wm2496hsm.

The detergent dispenser was not working so I thought I would try cleaning the hoses. I marked on the soap compartmentside but not the valve side. And I think I may have mixed them up. I tried to use common sense and have arranged hoses based on length and fit. Can someone explain the triple inlet's three prongs specific function so that I might verify if I correctly attached or not? Also can someone explain the normal water flow rates throughout the cycles. When does the pre-wash labeled connector/prong on the detergent tray housing fill with water? Thanks in advance.

Um u shouldnt take anything apart if you cant get it back tigether first rule of thumb secondly your description of dispenser doesnt work isnt enough to go buy. Im going to assume the detergent didnt flow in and i will assume u are using tide sport. My guess would be the detergent is too thick to syphin out assuming all that. Try mixing with half water first. Secondly look at the wiring diagram and find the colors of the wires going to each valve then hook hoses up from that valve to the part of the dispenser that has the writing of what your hooking up. Common sense goes a long way when fixing things and or braking them

SOURCE: LG front loader problem

If you remove the top cover you will see the soap dispenser unit on the left. It has a large rubber hose connecting it to the drum. If you remove two screws at the front you can free the dispenser for maintenance. You can undo the clips on the various hoses and check that they are clean.

Some people report some dripping from the soap dispenser even when the hose is unblocked. This seems to be a design fault.

SOURCE: LG WM2277HS - water backing up into soap dispenser

The pipe from the soap dispenser to the tub is quite large, it seems as if the water isn't getting out of the dispenser quick enough. Pull the whole dispenser out of the machine. There is a release clip at the back of the cup with the tray fully open. Clean out all soap residue and scum. Sometimes there is also a spot or setting for liquid or powder detergent. Adjust accordingly. Reassemble and try it again.

SOURCE: Dispenser fills with water.

The reason there is still water in the dispenser, and this in normal by the way, is the unit uses the pre wash and main wash valve to activate the fabric softener. Basically when the two valves come on they force water into the fabric softener compartment. There can be some overflow and it ends up in the blue cup nothing to worry about. Now if you have detergent there, then that is a problem..

SOURCE: Spots on clothes after washing

Put another filter on before the washer. Try to find out if it is in the hot water or the cold. If it is the cold try a filter. If it is the hot, replace your hot water tank.

Electrolux frontloader washer detergent drawer won't stay shut

Hello royal37 - Hi - The dispenser drawer could either be cracked or have a broken latch due to interference between the drawer front and top panel. Contact a professional to move forward accurately and might possibly need to order a service kit (PN: 137146000/part number may be different depending on your model number).

My washing machine gets stuck when it is going to start the rinse cycle

Top 10 frontload washer problems

1)Water fill problem: water took more than 10 minutes to fill to desired level sometimes indicated as a LF/IE or long fill/inlet error. Water valve screens clogged, hoses kinked, low water pressure, unpaid water bill. Check hose, clean screens.
2)Excessive vibration: noisey, roar, knocking noises. Bad damper, bearing or broken trunion. no error code
3)Dispenser drawer open/detergent in wrong compartment: washer will not operate with drawer open or cleaning products in wrong compartment.
4)Washer won't drain: clogged pump/filter, slow or clogged drain usually indicated as a LD/DE, if a code is given (long drain/drain error) Clear pump of objects
5)Drum overfilled: usually caused by sediment in the water level pressure sensing tube going up to the main control.Find it and blow out the sediment, re-secure pump out water and retry.
6)Door open, Door not latched, clothes/objects keeping door from completly closing. Tighten door latch, add washers if nessesary to make good contact and close door tighter in case of leaks.Note some models send a sig nal to the motor and another to the control letting both know the door is secure before proceeding, corrosion gets into the lid lock and the door can be locked and the control is ready but the motor ain't getting the message.
7)Cold water does not enter washer: hoses connected backwards. Oops.
8)Oversudsing: Wrong Detergent, too much detergen, detergent in wrong dispensing drawer, turbidity monitors pick up particles in the water and judge soil content then the washer allows for extra time to wash the clothes, if the wrong detergent is in there the machine thinks that is too much and declares a suds error. On some models a suds detect is determined by the motor over amping, most machines will try a few mini loads to correct the problem. Remove detergent, retry
9)Locked motor: error LE,loose connection,broken wire/hallsensor, motor overheated/failed.
10)Water heating error, hE, the termister/heater is out.

I will leave that on there for a while but it takes up broadband so print that manual out and keep it close to that washer.

Hello. My frontload LG Washer started leaking

I have the same problem I think. During the wash cycle, water sometimes starts spraying/leaking from the detergent dispenser drawer. This orignally only happened during a 'NORMAL' wash and when I ran a 'SPEED WASH' it was ok. Now all of a sudden it's doing it during the 'SPEED WASH' also. I though it might be the water pressure so I turned down the flow going to the washer but that doesn't seem to help. If I knew how the detergent system worked maybe it would be easier to solve this problem.

Dispenser problems

Open dispenser drawer and push down on center plastic tab at back of dispenser to allow you to take dispenser out of machine. Take the plastic pieces off and clean them. (they need to be clean in order to siphon the bleach, softener, etc out. If there is water left in them, the water fill valve is OK. Cleaning should fix your problem. If you are using concentrated additives, try diluting them a bit with warm water when you add them to the dispenser. Remember, only one tablespoon (max) detergent, one teaspoon (max) fabric softener per load.

Fabric softener will not dispense

My wife reported the same problem and I took the top off the washer (2 screws at rear of washer and top slides forward) . Under the top on the left front side behind is the dispenser. On the top is a click adjuster similar to a clock hand pointer and in the center is a tick mark and off to the left side is (-) marks for reduced dispensing and to the right (+) marks for increasing dispensing. I moved the pointer all the way to the plus side and after a few loads the dispenser works fine. I assume over time the different fluids (fabric softener, detergent, etc) tend to gum up the valve mechanism. If this doesn't work I would try pouring some very hot water in it to try and loosen things up. After you try all the free thing, I guess the last option is a new dispenser.
