Why is display panel flashing on and off

The display panel keeps flashing on and off and making a loud clicking noise. It will then work fine for a while and in the middle of the night it will happen when no one has been in the thing for hours. It appears to still be running but we are afraid to keep food in it that may spoil. There are no additional noises or issues.

sounds like the adaptive defrost controller part number 61005988. not to bad to repace, the top control panel is removed by pulling down on both rear corners ( youls find little finger holes across the top rear panel to free and pulll foward, the n there are 2 1/4in screws across th efron of control, and 2 phillips head screws jus behind each light bulb, one last 1/4in screw directly on back wall will drop entire panel adn after that youl see the control in the right hand corner unplug the old replug the new . DISCONNECT POWER PRIOR TO REPAIR<

Making loud noise from the freezer side but every thing is working fine

Open the freezer and press the door switch in to see if the noise is coming from the fan. If it is, see if there is any ice buildup on the back panel or behind it that the fan may be rubbing on. Keep me posted.

No picture, siren type noise as restarting

My Toshiba dlp 62hm116 was used for 3 months then stored for 2 years, I turned it on yesterday and it makes a loud grinding noise which I think is probably from the exhaust fan area and the picture is black except white at both vertical sides. It worked fine the last time I used it 2 years ago. Any ideas?

Drive not being recognized, making weird noises?

I really hope I'm dead wrong on this one. But from the little bit you've described so far, my first guess would be that the loud clicking noise you're hearing is what is known as the 'click of death'.
From Wikipedia: "Click of death" is a term that became common in the late 1990s referring to the clicking sound in disk storage systems that signals the device has failed, often catastrophically." In other words, get out your original purchase receipt and/or warranty (if still valid) and get it replaced or your money back.
