Sounds like your start capacitor is stuffed or the start winding is open circuit.
Find the capacitor and change it like for like. If it doesn’t start after that then in will be the start winding in which case it will need to be replaced.
A split phase motor has a start coil. This is supposed to be energized when the motor is started. When the motor accelerates, a centrifugal switch opens a switch to de-energize the start coil.
If the motor will not start but only hums, the switch contacts might be burnt or the centrifugal switch is stuck.
I am assuming that the motor is free to turn and not mechanically bound up.
It probably just doesnt know the words
The different
types of fan motors available include:
•
Single phase motor
•
Split-phase motor
•
Capacitor-start

Your pump is for above ground pools and those motors are generally split-phase and do not have a capacitor. There is an internal starting switch mechanism which can fail and when it does the motor will hum/buzz but fail to start. If the switch arms are just worn out of position you can probably fix it. If they are burned up from wear the switch can be replaced but the cost of the part and likelihood other issues with the motor are close behind lead most people to just replace the motor.

No, your model number starts with 's' which means it is a split phase design; no capacitors are present in a split phase motor. If the motor is failing to start and just hums the only part that you can replace that MAY be the problem is the internal starting switch. If the switch is not the issue it is the winding itself and not worth fixing.
