Looking to get sound from DVD or Wii console. Hoping to connect The Bose speakers to the LG monitor. The audio cord provided with the Bose would not appear to fit anywhere in the monitor. Confused. Hope at least to provided the forum with a laugh, but hopefully I get a solution. thanks

Is the problem on all signal to display? If any signal is dark, the inverter is going bad.

You need to give some more information. Jerry there gave a pretty good suggestion based on the information you gave It sounds like your previous monitor had the speakers built in - is this not true?
If your speakers were infact built into your old monitor, then you need standalone speakers since there obviously isnt any built into your new monitor.
If you currently have standalone speakers and (for some reason) were plugging your standalone speakers into your monitor, then you need to reroute this cable to the back of your computer now. Look for the stereo mini plug - it will be colored green.

You simply need a miniature stereo audio cable. Radio Shack carries them.

Look in the power supply section first for bad caps, post back what you find inside, pictures will help a lot to guide you through, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
