Why does the Victory 4 scooter not move. It worked fine for 20 minutes. I shut it off, then when I tried to ride again it would not go. No sounds. Battery is charged and light and horn works.

Hi, there can be a number of reasons for this, from a controller fault to a weak pair of batteries to a brake that is breaking down..

Please contact me so i can advise further...

SOURCE: pride victory Scooter battery charged won't run

Its probably too late to give my opinion, but here goes anyway.
I had a similar problem with my mothers scooter and it turned out to be a faulty connection on the wires leading to the motor. I simply pulled the plastic connection apart, cleaned and lubricated the contacts, refitted the connection and all was well.

SOURCE: I have a pride victory xl8. Problem - was running

All scooters have a protection system built in to prevent burning up the motor, and the user, should the scooter overheat. It sounds like yours overheated. If the temp. outside was warm to hot, and your weight is near the weight limit for the scooter, and you are taxing the motors over a hill, or unstable terrain, then the scooter goes into "limp home mode", or just enough to get you a bit aways, and then it will turn off. After a few minutes to cool off, it will go again, but shut down fairly quickly because it takes a spell to let the whole transaxle-motor assembly to get cool.

Check your weight, and anything else you may be carrying with you on the scooter. Check the terrain, and incline you are going against. Throttle down for all these occassions. If you overloaded the system at some point, then you may have overheated the brushes. Remove them (2) with a standard screwdriver and see if the copper coil is still flexible and springy. If not, replace it/them.

The damage may already be done, so it may need a new motor/transaxle assembly. An expensive proposition I'm afraid.

SOURCE: No Power on my Victory when not plugged in.

is the freewheel mechanism engaged if this is not the case I suggest you check all the wireing looms and also check each wire individually it may be that some are broken or have simply not been connected up to each other or may have been connected wrongly to each other and really you should not be useing the lights or the horn when it is plugged in to the charger some types of scooter also have a reset switch usually beneath the rear shroud some where usually you are able to access this by putting your hand into the opening that the seat post goes through upon the rear shroud although if you are not aware of exactly where it is you may find it easier to remove the rear shroud to find it also strip all the plastic shrouds from the scooter front and rear and check all the connections of the wires and make sure they are clean and have not become crusted up with rust or any thing else for that matter and if they have then ueing a mall wire brush or a piece of sandpaper clean them up and re-assemble them make sure you only do one at a time though to make sure you do not connect them up wrongly alternativly if one wire proves to be faulty then it may be easier and better to dissconnect it at both ends and rip out the faulty wire and get yourself to halfords or a similar shop that sells car parts and buy yourelf some wire as well as a crimping set for connecting wires and there individual connectors and then rewire the faulty part or parts try useing a circuit tester on all the vires for each and every individual wire until you have tracked down the fault or the faulty parts or components and replace what ever is faulty or maybe faulty clean up all the connetions make sure that no rain or moisture has got into or affected the parts or the connections as they will and can short out also test and check out the circuit boards and if it is thee that need replaceing it may be cheeper to just brek the scooter down for spares and sell the spares off seperatly and put any money you gain into a piggy bank until you have enough to buy another second hand scooter or even a new scooter although you must make sure any of the parts you do sell are in good working order as if it is te circuit board that are at fault unless your able to replace them or fix them cheaply then it is not worth keping the scooter intact and you are better scrapping these parts as they cost too much to replace unless you are lucky enough to get another scooter of the same make and model type that i working except for say the seat or bodywork or sub-frame is not any good and then from these two scooters make one good one if it is possible as the parts otherwise are not worth the cost of replacing them however check that you have got the correct battery types as they should be sealed lead or sealed gel batteries as some make the silly mistake of buying themelves a couple of car batteries or similar thinking that it is going to be a cheap andeasy fix that will work however this is not the case also do not recharge the battery for a few minute or an hour or two but leave them charging up over night or at least for 8 to 12 hours however if it is not the reset switch or any other problem that can be easily be resolved check about in the free ads and other various places that advertise cheap and free scooters and scooter parts to see if you can pick up the parts you need cheaply good luck and bet wihes I hope your problems are resoved soon and quickly

SOURCE: my victory 4 mobilty wont charge the green light is very faint/the charger was tested working.so why wont my scooter charge

make sure battery cables are secure at battery terminals and clean.how old are the batteries. If the batteries run down fast they are no good.a good way to test them is put scooter against some thing solid and go forward. If the battery indicator drops to o the batteries are no good.It takes about 10 hours to charge the batteries

Why does it go-stop-go-stop?

The Controller maybe over heating. another thing that could cause this is loose connection to the battery. Throttle may have broken wire and when you hit a bump looses connection. If you let the scooter sit for 10-15 min. before trying again that could have worked better for you.

Why won't my lights work?

Have you checked the wiring to the lights. Sounds like you have a wire that has shorted to ground. Would also explain your battery drain. I'd check the wiring before the ignition switch since it is draining your battery with the switch in the off position.

Set to move at 8 mph on full charge speed set to max only moving at 1 mph or less using battery charge in 20 mins

Hi, Sadly that sounds like your batteries have called it a day however please check your charger as this can have a fault and this can make your batteries appear weak and the battery teminal connections, are they loose ?. Check your manual as I think you can fit 12V 40Amp batteries to this scooter.

Please leave feedback if my advice helps.
