see this causes and fix it. God bless you Timer
The timer could be the problem. To check this, turn the timer to a timed
cycle say 30 minutes or so then time it. If in 30 minutes the timer
hasn't moved and the dryer is still on, the timer is bad and needs replacing. If in 30 minutes the dryer is off, the heating element is your problem
Heating Element
This is the most likely cause for some dryers timer not advancing. Some
dryers have two heating elements and if one goes out the timer will not
advance if you use it on an automatic cycle but you will still feel heat
inside the tub.Replace the Heating Elements
Actually, doesn't matter, the timer is the component that turns the dryer on and off. If the dryer won't turn off via the timer then the timer is bad!
(I'm assuming, opening the door turns the dryer off.)
Replace the timer to fix.
If this was helpful, please select YES to the first two RATINGS questions. Good Luck!
This will occur if the timer mechanism becomes faulty or damaged. The timer motor, in this case, is the culprit. Unfortunately, this is not a serviceable part. The entire timer mechanism will need to be replaced, if possible.
HI. this timer mechanism is the Principal initiator of the units entire cycle when in action. You will not receive any heat if the timer motor has failed. Have this timer module replaced asap. this will fix this issue.
Normally if you have an automatic cycle that turns off the dryer when the clothes
are dry, it will do it with a special thermostat or moisture-sensing
system. The thermostat tells the dryer to heat until the interior of the dryer reaches a "pre-set" temperature. When the dryer reaches the pre-set temperature, the thermostat tells the timer to begin advancing. If there is a moisture sensor, the timer advances only if the moisture content of the clothing is low enough. The timer advances until the interior cools, then the termostat tells the timer to stop advancing, and tells the dryer to start heating again. This cycle continues until the clothes are dry. But... if the vent is clogged, the dryer may never reach the proper operating temperature, so it doesn't send the signal to the timer and the dryer continues to run indefinitely, even if the clothes are completely dry. To fix this problem, clean the vent and/or internal ductwork and make sure the vent is not compressed or kinked. If that doesn't work, then your thermostat, moisture sensor or timer could be the culprit. .
THE TIMER HAS A SMALL DRIVE MOTOR THAT TURNS THE TIMER AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS FOR DIFFERENT CYCLES AND VARIES FROM BRAND TO BRAND BUT EITHER WAY YOU MUST REPLACE THE TIMER , EXPENSIVE FIX IF THE DRYER IS WORTH IT THAT SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM
yes very possible timer but my guess on the times i seen the problem would be the heating element are the thermo fuse on the elemnt canister when the heater does not come on the timer will not move ck the heater and the fuses on the heater canister it will fix your problem
