SOURCE: Tv brightness
I just bought an e 62525 on craigslist for $300 dollars. The guy had it in his garage because of a degraded picture... white out haze and virtually no black ... I surfed for similar issues most referring to the light engine. However; going back to basics. I removed the front panel assembly (approximately 16 screws including the center panel surrounding the card/rca ports in the front). The main mirror was spotless (in itself missleading) but the projection lense and the smaller mirror were frosted over with 3+ years of fine dust. I cleaned them with a simple cloth. I also noted that the foam insert surrounding the lense had gaps due to age which allowed excessive light sepage (the white out problem). I repositioned the foam as best I could. Then simply stuffed a black cloth over the foam but firmly arround the lense (keeping the foam intact as well). This blocked "all" light sepage. Bottom line is that I now have a picture quality that is flat out incredible! This is one bad mutha (shut yo mouth) tv. P.S. I'm just an average guy with an electric screw driver.

Had the same problem. Service replaced the lamp engine. It did help.
SOURCE: Color
If the tv looks now dark this is the first symptom of a lamp replacement (refer to the user's manual to do this job) and get a Mitsubishi original replacement.
the best picture setting (when the lamp is back of course) depends in the light of the room.
Now if after replacing de lamp and playing with the settings and the screen still pale, dimm, not enought color. a cleanning in the reflexion area is needed. (technican job)
SOURCE: Screen is dim. Have brightness turned up to max
Yes... from the moment the lamp is put into service, it begins to deminish in brightness. You should order a replacement lamp to have on hand.
