My machine is acting up its not starting. when i push to start is shuts down

How many miles are on it? Could be timing chain wear.

I suspect a clogged fuel filter. Having lived on bumpy rural roads for years, I has to change the filter on my '86 Sunbird 3 or 4 times.

What prompted you to change the fuel pump to begin with? Did you check the codes on the dash? Or have someone OBD check it? It could be a crank sensor, but the codes should reveal that. Codes first and work backwards, please.

what i do when i see cars that act like that is check fuel pressurse when the problem is acting up also check the spark to see if it is present at the time of the no start also when the check engine light comes on set up with a shop to check forr codes when the light comes on dont shut it off until the scanner can rread the codes. also that veh is equiped with a auto shut down relay system what is does is if a crank shatf sensor starts to go astray it can send the computer into shutdown mode also the o2 heaters can short out and that will send it into shut down mode also when it goes to shut down you will see it on a scan tool that the relay is shutting down also look at the grounds for the cruise control its usaully not the asd relay uaslly a system connected to it that shuts it down. hope this helps thunderboltz

loosen the bolt on the bottom of the carburetor up and let the water out and then re tighten and try it

you may want to check the gas cap. if the cap can not vent properly, the engine will not get gas. next time it starts to act like it is going to die on you. reach down and loosen the gas cap just a bit.

If it has worked for a year and your able to choose different cycles with the same result. It seems to functions with one common element failing. If the control unit cant detect how full the machine is with water it will shut down. Sounds like a water problem steming from your pressure switch. Not sure which model you have but usually it will sit on the water pump or under the console with a clear hose if under the console. If so a quick test of attaching an ohm meter set on continuity then blowing lightly to see if under pressure the switch reacts by closing if it doesnt then the switch is bad.

If the washer stops here are some reasons why this may happen.
The water lines have screens that can become clogged by accumulating debris in the water,
And then the machine will automatically shut down. And if its not completely blocked it will shut down intermittently!

1. Plug cord into live electrical outlet.
2. Check fuse or reset circuit breaker.
3.Close door firmly and push the Start/Pause pad to start the washer.
For your safety, the washer will not tumble or spin unless the door is
closed.
4 This may be a pause or soak period in the cycle.
Wait briefly and it may start.
5. Check screens on inlet hoses at the faucets for obstructions.
Clean screens periodically.
May be on hose ends too,and will be in the water inlets of the washer!!!!!!!!!!

Let me know who gets started, since there are multiple people with this problem.
