This may or may not solve your problem but it might alleviate it. The calculator has a power saving mode which you can configure as follows.
Turn ClassPad ON
Tap the Menu icon at the bottom of the screen.
Scroll down until you see the System Icon
Tap the system icon. After a few moments the calculator comes back and displays the system configuration screen.
At the top of the system configuration screen tap the battery icon (look for a + - sign).
This opens the power saving properties.
The power Save Mode will turn power saving mode automatically, after a day, one week or one month. It can also turn the power Save Mode OFF.
The other configurable setting is the auto Power OFF. It turns the calculator OFF after 1 min, 3 min, 6 min or 60 minutes.

Note: another possibility is the use of rechargeable NiMH batteries. Be aware that some manufacturers discourage strongly the use of rechargeable batteries.
