NOBODY can solve it. I've been trying for a year. Panasonics site just wastes hours of your time. Searching wastes hours of your time. Anyone who provides the right software is threatened and/or sued. This is how these companies spend our hard earned money....not resolving the issue, making it worse. I wont ever patronize this type of activities.. and never again buy their equipment. Unfortunately, I also happen to be in the electronics business. I expect this now, from the USA's greedy crooks, but not the Japanese. I am shocked that the last country with morals is falling victim.
So.... here's what I did. Find a tv card or usb tv for your computer. use the tv hookup cords to your camera...plug them to your tv card. Now play your tv on your computer, change your tv to the input line that shows your cam...from there you can use printscreen or record your video with an 'honorable', and also 'free' program. Something like '' irfanview ''. Then, this ''honorable'' program can convert your images into any format your heart desires! This covers all camcorders, DVD,s, movies, music cd's, and audio of any type...there I said it. You could guess that I am tired of these scams. I've watched these games spin out of control for years.....break out of prison!! ...enjoy your entertainment...pay where it IS appropriate....as without you, the customer, there is no market at all.!!! The underground music quality and popularity says it all.
Now, as a favor to me, go back to irfanview and thank the author for his hard tireless years of work. If you can, leave a donation. WE the people, need to take back our country and economy, by patronizing only what we know is right. Those that really are concerned about ''us'', need our attention. Not those that demand it. There is no time better than now to begin!
ps.... If you like...try " isobuster '' or other like programs for damage and lost info retrieval, they can pull anything from anywhere..and convert it to useful media....lol....maybe your panasonic m50 disk??

If you are using windows then windows movie maker can do the job for you. Click on the import from digital video camera option from the panel on the left hand side. If you are using windows XP you can find that option under file menu.
Let me know if you need more help,
Sai.

Hi
If you're using windows XP, the camera will be automatically identified.
Anyhow, try the following:
1. Check the cable for any possible defects.
2. Switch off the computer.
3. Connect the cable to both the camcorder and the firewire card.
4. Switch on the computer.
5. Switch on the camcorder.
If the cable and the firewire card are both okay then it is possible
that the camcorder firewire interface is damaged.
good luck
