Hello Friend, thank you for your inquiry! I understand that water is
leaking from the ice maker of your Electrolux refrigerator; however please help me understand if you are referring to the ice/water dispenser (filter) or actual icemaker? With this material I can better address the issue at hand. Thank you! - Z
SOURCE: ice maker leaking
Twodogs, I can't bring anything up with this model number but let me give you a couple scenerios of what could be wrong. The mold itself could be rotting out and leaking on fill, The fill valve in back of the refer might not be seating correctly and therefore you have an overfill. The fill tube might not be set in the trough causing it to spill over. Some models have a fill adjustment screw on the module of the ice-maker, I can't tell if yours does because of the incomplete model number. Catriver, post back.
SOURCE: leaking water from the ice maker
It is very unlikely that you have a leaking water line inside the fridge/freezer, as they are protected from damage. If you have water dripping from the ice maker inside the freezer and/or the dispenser in the door, the most likely problem is the valve that supplies water to the ice maker.
You'll need to replace the water inlet valve that supplies water to the ice maker. This is not the same valve that supplies water to the fridge (I believe the yellow colored valve) but rather, it is the blue valve, mounted just above the main water inlet valve.
At the bottom back right side of the fridge, you can remove the covering and see both the yellow and blue valves. The yellow one (on the bottom) is the incoming water control valve, while the blue (upper one) supplies water to the ice maker.
The part runs about $45-50 if you get it yourself, or around $185.00 for a repair person to come out and do the job for you. It should only take about 20-30 minutes to do it yourself with a small 1/4" nutdriver. Part available from Searspartsdirect.com or several other online and local stores. Just call around and give them your fridge model number and serial number, located on the inside of the fresh food section of the fridge - on the "ceiling" just inside the door.
Hope that helps.
