Sounds like you could have some infections. Try downloading Malware bytes, and Combo Fix. These programs should help you to see if you need to clean up your PC. If you have windows 8.1 and can't use combo fix get C Cleaner. Just google these names and they will lead you to where you can download them. Use malware bytes before you use either of the other two.
your router could have been damaged. wifi comes from that, not the cable. If you have internet then cable is working, get replacement router from Virgin.
