EnV2 shutting off when closed

go to control panel /appearence personisation /system security go downtoo power optionsedit plan settings (change when comp goes to sleep /change advanced power settingsbox will open power options work way down to power buttons and lid open that up + on battrey open lid close action you will see do nothing open that up and press shut down
that will shut down youre comp when lid closes

LG ENV2....reset the phone to factory defaults....wont lose data, contacts, etc....worked for me...exterior backlight now shuts off

all of the refrigerator has a spring if there has no spring it will not open and close!

I just got mine a few weeks ago and it does the same exact thing (I didn't drop it, there is no water damage, I didn't understand the cause of it). I took it back to the Verizon store and I was told that the random shutting off like that is caused by having the phone outside being exposed to heat. He reset my phone back to factory settings and that did the trick for awhile (its hard for me to go to the pool and not have my phone exposed to the heat). There is no charge for them to reset the phone. Mine has started the random shutting off again back up

I had the same problem, I took it back to the Verizon store and told it was caused by heat exposure from being outside. He reset my phone and the problem stopped (until I had it outside at the pool again)

Check your settings to see if that is an option that when you close it it shuts down.

This was happening to me with my env2 but a friend helped me fix the problem, which is caused by bad contact between the battery and the phone.

Remove the battery from the back.

At the bottom of the recess in which the battery sits are the 4 gold contacts.

First, clean these contacts with a pencil eraser and be sure to clear any eraser leavings fromt he recess.

At the top end of the recess (opposite the gold contacts) you'll see the holes where the posts from the battery pack insert.
For this next part, you'll need a business card or some paper. I've found that a double-layer (single fold) of business card works, so probably a triple or quadruple-layer of paper will do as well. Cut the card such that it is just short enough to fit lengthwise between the post-holes, and wide enough that when folded lengthwise it will fit into the recess. Position the folded piece against the top "wall" of the recess between the post-holes and then insert your battery.

The card/paper pushes the battery downward just enough to make solid connection with the gold contacts. I did this about a month ago, and the phone has never sinced turned off on its own (it was doing it a few times a day prior to that).

When your phone is closed, hit OK for the menu, then hit 6 for Keyguard Settings. There, you can not only change the time it takes for the keyguard to automatically go on, but ALSO change the keyguard unlock options from One Step Unlock (just hitting ok) to Two Step Unlock (hitting ok then clr). It's not a 4 digit code, but it's a lot better than just hitting ok, and much more time efficient than locking your phone every time you put it in your pocket.

This phone sucks. Everytime I shut the cover, it would shut off (not so much anymore). NOW I have the blank white screen issue. So annoying :P

i was talking on my phone yesterday and i just shut off. i plugged it in and it has a full battery but every time i turn it on it only gets to the "registering apps" it shuts off. what is wrong with my phone?
