Cobra 18rv cb has 3 power wires, what is the yellow, (aux) wire for?

The red lead (switched) turns the radio on when the ignition switch is turned on and off when the ignition switch is turned off. The orange wire is used to keep power constantly going to the radio so you don't lose the last channel you were on, and it gives you emergency weather information even if the radio is off. If you want the radio to stay on all the time even if the ignition switch is turned off then you can just put both wires to a constant power source like directly to the positive post of the battery or an un-switched connection on the fuse panel, and you just turn it off with the volume/power switch. But you have to remember to turn the radio off or you could drain the battery in a few days. So the choice is yours. :)

2009 Chev Uplander radio keeps quitting and displaying Aux Input Device

There is a short in the aux input 'hole' that receives the wire. When you plug in the wire from your mp3 the radio automatically switches to aux. Since there is a short in the plug when you hit bumps or the vibration etc. the radio thinks that it is receiving a plug in and switches to aux. You will have to have the radio physically repaired (it will have to soldered) to repair the short. I own 2 of these vans and my parents own one and all three have had this issue. It is usually created from a wire plugged into the port hole and getting bumped or something which causes the port to loosen. Over time the metal connections inside short out. Just my two cents.

I have a scosche ipod connector with an on/off switch on 03 accord but i cant get the stereo to change to aux mode. I repeatedly hit the cd/aux button but it won't switch to aux mode and play mu

Have you tried resetting the stereo?
Disconnect the negative of your battery, wait at least 30 seconds then re-connect it.

That will reset your radio back to factory settings.

I have a Pioneer DEH-P5200 and i plugged the aux chords in the back to my ipod but dont know how to switch to the aux mode on radio...

OK - had the same problem and got it finally figured out. Power the unit on the ignition key. Press and hold the source button so the unit shuts off. With the unit shut off press and hold the function button (the key is to hold the function button down) The clock, aux etc will show on the screen. Press (but do not hold) the function button and it will move to each function. When you get to the AUX press the ^ button and the will switch the AUX to "on". Once you know, like everything else, it's pretty easy.

While playing a cd it skips to aux I have to scroll down to cd to keep it playing

Either the "mode" switch on the handlebar is vibrating or there is an issue with the auto detect circuit in the aux section of the radio. Check the bar switch first. If that is good, radio will need to be repaired.

06 and newer...contact Iron Cross Audio
05 and older...contact Radio Sound.

You need to switch the aux function back on and to do this you need to turn the radio on to standby and press and hold the menu button for a few seconds and then use the toggle switch on the right side of the fascia to get to aux and then flick the switch forward to switch the aux on
