There is no charge.
You already have joined. And you did so without giving any credit card or other financial information. Anytime you can wander around a site without giving that info, it's a pretty good indication that it's free.

Perhaps in your settings you blocked in app purchases.
look in your settings.
Be aware if it is on you could easy spend lots and lots of money without knowing till your credit card firms sends you the bill.

Hi emmanuel shaba, I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. What do you mean unlock automatically? Your Apple ID is associated with your user name or email address. If you have forgotten your password then simple visit apple.com to reset it. If this is someone else's apple ID then you will need to erase that information and put in your own apple ID. You can choose to automatically download updates by going into your settings under "iTunes and App Store" however purchases will always require you to put in your password for security. Purchases also require a credit/debit card associated with your account as well as agreeing to Apple's privacy statement.

1. Go to the "My Info" page at apple.com (see Resources below).
2. Scroll all the way to the bottom where it says "Don't Have an Apple ID?" and click on the link.
3. Fill out the information, including a valid email address, and submit. A confirmation email will be sent shortly after you hit the "Submit" button, so make sure the email you provide is valid.
4. Go to iTunes and log in using your Apple ID. You will be able to add a verified credit card account from here, which will allow you to both upload podcasts as well as download music and apps on the fly.
