Go to Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Under the Mail window - go to Show> and select the number of recent emails that you want the iPad to load in your email accounts.

While you are in the mail settings - tap on the email account, tap on the account in the next window, tap on Advanced in the next window and tap Delete - and select the amount of time that you want the emails to stay on the iPad.

In some mail accounts there will also be an option for Delete from Server - tap that and set it to never if you want to control when to delete your old emails.

Go back to your email inbox in the mail app and swipe down to the bottom of the window - there may be an option to "load more messages from the server" in blue letters. Tap that and you will download as many odl emails as you set up for in the Show recent messages setting. At the top of the inbox is a search field - type in keywords in that search field to find old emails.

You can also search for emails in the spotlight search. Go to the home screen and tap the home button and the search feature pops up. Type keywords in the search field at the top to find old emails there as well. When you tap on that email in the search, the mail app will open and you can read the email.

I have try to make space on my I pad but I can't get my emails back

If you have set up your email account as an IMAP account, your emails are on the server, but if you delete them on your iPad, they are also delete on the server.
if you have set up your email account as a POP3 account, your emails are downloaded to your iPad ... if you delete them on your iPad, they are still on the server, so you can retrieve them. However, POP3 accounts don't show you the email folders that are on the server. You need to decide which is more important to you. On the iPad, do you want privacy (POP3) or flexibility (IMAP).
A POP3 account will also continue to use up more space (memory) and not clean-up (clear) ... eventually, you will have to delete the account to try to minimize the amount of used space. I don't know why it does this, but I have been fighting this problem for 4 years on two different versions of the iPhone. My iPhone is setup as POP3, while my iPad is set up as IMAP. I have not found a good answer to this problem.

How do I clean my ipad to get rid of old emails and stuff

To get rid of old emails, you could try to remove the email account itself, but is that what you want ?
here is how to erase the account from the iPad :
- Settings
- Passwords & Accounts
- select the account you want to remove
- at the bottom, there's an option to delete it.

however, on that same last screen, you can choose how many 'mail days' you want to Sync, so try that to see if you'll have less emails on the iPad...

How to reset an ipad 2

If you've tied your iPad to the iCloud account and have forgotten about that account password go to iCloud.com and click on "I forgot my Apple-ID or Password". Follow their instructions to re-activate your account. If you can't answer the questions (you defined) or have no access to the email-account assigned anymore it might get difficult.

I need to delete 4000 emails from my ipad

. Your ipad does not store those emails on your ipad so if you are having a storage problem, that won't fix it. To delete all the emails though, you have to go to the email account itself and delete them from there.

Where in ballarat can i get an black ipad repaired?

Hi Daveo_25,
I've had two family member's iPads (ipad 2 & ipad 3gen) repaired by Ballarat iphones. He repaired them both within a few hours after dropping them off and they were as good as new. The cost of the repairs was reasonable and i would use them again. their website is www.ballaratiphones.com.au
Best of Luck,
