I have just moved into a new apartment in France, and we have a 2 ring touch screen hob. There are no instructions or booklets but it says "Schott ceran brandt" on it. It works, as I've worked out how to set the safety lock, and both rings turn on, and we can change the temperature....but they are not giving off any heat? What am I doing wrong? I have turned on each hob, tried all the heat settings, and nothing happens! Please help!

Ceramic cooktops need the correct type of pots or they leave marks,check your instruction manual.

Try pushing the - (minus button) for more than 3 seconds and see if it unlocks. If not contact them here:

Glass hob keeps flashing l on each ring why????

We have this exact same problem, and I've not managed to track down a manual (we rent and the landlord is on holiday).
I've tried holding down all buttons for a time, combinations of buttons, and turning it off at the mains, but no joy.

Did you ever solve this?

If your hob is siemens then the controls are touch... press the on/off switch for power, then the control pad is yours with

Hi. Yes you can buy a new glass. Most of the come with frame top now. If you get me the model # I can look this up for you and get you an idea on cost.

If the KEY lock is on (key botton flashes when switched on) ... touch AND HOLD the lock symbol for AT LEAST TWO seconds until it beeps, then hold the on/off button for AT LEAST 2 SECS.

If the CHILD lock is on ([L] on all displays when switched on), then:
1)Hold the on switch for TWO secs min (unit swtiches on) ...then
2) touch AND HOLD the + AND - for AT LEAST 2 secs
3) touch the - button once again.

I want to say that since I posted my original problem with black spots appearing on the Schott Ceran top, I took pictures of the top and attached them to a complaint sent to Maytag. Approximately 3 days later, a Maytag representative phoned and offered a brand new top-basically stating that there is a fault with the tops. They would not pay for the labor to replace the top. My husband downloaded the instructions from Maytag website and installed it himself. These spots actually appear from within the surface and are not the result of a boil over, etc. The spots on my burner grew to the width of the burner. If you search the internet, you will see many others with the same problem with the Schott Ceran tops. I will never buy another!
