SOURCE: won't power on

Your power board has gone out. If your tv is under warrenty then you can get it done for no cost. Vizio will send power board and main board and Tv tech will come on-site to install the parts.

SOURCE: Whenever my T.V. is plugged in the Vizio symbol

Although your problem had somewhat different behavior, it still points to a failure of the main power supply, chronic in too many later sets.
The supply is normally built on a separate board since these are often out-sourced by set manufacturers.

Unplug your set overnight to allow potentially hazardous voltages to discharge, remove the back panel of the set so you can see the guts.
Look for a smaller board with larger parts on it; some cylindrical (capacitors), others block-like and relatively large (chokes and transformers).
You should also see a relationship between the board and the incoming AC.
Check the board for a label or if not present, a stamped-on number.
Call the manufacturer's service center with your TV model number and the number found on that board and inquire about repair/replacement costs; if both are offered, they won't be that much different.
If you must buy a new board, don't dispose of the failed one as there are smaller companies that can repair it for less than the mfr. and then keep it as a spare as this problem will likely arise again.

Vizio vw37l hdtv20a standby light on but wont turn on

you either have a faulty power supply or faulty main board. Vizio power supplies on the older sets are pretty decent. It's usually the main boards that go. These older main boards tend to be pricey so it may be better to buy a new set.

Solutions (2) Best Solution That little fella is only turned off by unplugging it. If all those little lights in America could be turned off we could do with one less nuclear power plant. If unplugging it is not an option, my wife's solution is to cover it with a piece of black tape.

remove all screws on the back of the tv, carefully pull off back cover. you will see two circuit boards one on the left (Power) and one on the right (Video) on the Video board there is a small plug on the right side with a yellow, white and red wire going into a small white connector. the red wire is what controls the orange light on the front. now that the plug is pulled turn it over and you should see a small white plastic piece that holds each metal connector on the end of the wires in. pry this piece of plastic up for the red wire and pull at the same time, the wire will come out of the connector. now tape the metal connector with electrical tape and tuck it behind something or tape it to the chassis. plug your connector back in. put the rear cover back on. now your tv will only show the vizio logo in white when you have the power on. If you wish to disable the logo for both orange and white just disconnect the white plug completely.

My Vizio is plugged in to a good power spource but will not turn on. The orange vizio logo on the front panel is not lit. Has anyone else had this problem?

No standby light meaning that you have no power connect to TV, check voltage at your outlet. If it has, your TV need to check the power supply board inside.

Vizio TV will not turn on

Sounds like your power board is bad. contact vizio support and let them know. some vizio parts have lifetime warranties with free service call. see if it is covered, and hope it is. if not, i would start with the power board, you should have an led, light, on the power board that should be on, if it is not, the power board is not on. you can see this light without opening the TV, just turn off lights in the room and view from the back of the tv. hope this helps.
