Has the developer been replaced and associated counters been reset and F8 been run? Or you may have a bad sensor that monitors the amount of toner and developer mix inside the developer unit which located under the drum if you pull out the image unit as a hole.

I'm assuming you already replaced the drum, and are still getting this error? Sometimes the chip in the drum that resets the counter is bad. This is esp. true if you get a reman drum. You should replace the drum and try again to see if this fixes the problem. Go back to the place you bought the new drum from and tell them the chip didn't reset the counter and if it's still under warranty they should replace it.

Drum counter is reset by installation of a "NEW" drum.
There is a small fuse at the rear of the drum on the top( you will see the 2 brass contacts) When a new drum is installed, the fuse blows and resets the drum counter. Installing a used drum will not reset the counter as the fuse is already blown.

clear the drum counter. life than down arow until it says drum counter clear than start 2 times

lift up the rapid key flap on the keyboard. press the life key and I think the display will give a choice of press 3 key and enter.

if the Drum LED is still lit after replacing the drum unit, the Drum counter may not be reset.
Reset the Drum counter as follows:

1. Open the front cover.
2. Locate the control panel button under the LED lights on the left side.
3. Press the control panel button until all lights are lit, then release it.
   The Drum counter is now reset.

Press life "2" start for toner.

And life "3" start for drum.

These will reset the counters.

If you are having a "check drum error" then you have broken the sensor arm that is attached to your lid.

Call a technician in your area.
