Read page 23 in the manual.
Press "enter" & the #1 keys together for 5 seconds.
Then press stop.
Press "system menu" & change the option back to dvd3.
Then press "enter" & the #3 keys together for 5 seconds.
Press "system menu".

According to Sony, if you turn the power on and hold the Enter key and the #1 key down together for at least 3 seconds, everything will default back to factory settings.

Press & hold the Enter button. Then press & hold the number 1 for a few seconds. Release both. Now, press the System Menu button. You should have access to the system menu.

The solution is to reset your remote code to DVD1 (default is DVD3).

Press the ENTER button and NUMBER ONE button simultaneously for at least three seconds. Viola, control returns.
