Television sets are fast becomming a thing of the past because of the internet

a person can easly use their PC to watch television by getting a Tuner Capture Card or USB tuner capture device.

How I watch television on my own computer

I use an internal PCI single tuner capture card made by eVGA nvida called the NVTV and a program called "MediaPortal" an open source alternative to Microsofts MediaCenter

eVGA NVTV single tuner capture card was made for Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition ONLY

"MediaPortal" supports NVTV single tuner capture card under Microsoft Windows XP since the core driver for the card also worked under Microsoft Windows XP or XP pro or ( XP HOME which I've not tested ) You should only need MediaPortal unless

1. you have an internal PCI tuner capture card and have no other solutions
2. have a situation like mine where you have a no longer supported tuner capture card
3. if you have totaly lost your television software that came with your tuner.

The next move for me is to buy a USB tuner capture device as soon as humanly possible.
