Hitachi rear projection hd tv. message on screen says invalid cable card installed. remove to restore video access. there is no cable card installed as we have cable service through a cable company. j

Two things to try here---first is unplug the set for a while and plug back to see if the microprocessor in the set will reboot.

Second look to see if slot for the card has anything at all in it or is dirty.

if dirty blow it clean and repeat unplug procedure Note: very few of these sets have a hard reset feature but if all else fails call Hitachi customer service with the model number---they have some very good people answering the phones and an extensive data base on sets/problems.

How do i install my ati x1900 video card on my mac pro

That card needs extra power - more than it can get thru the PCI-E socket - so do exactly what it's said : connect an extra power cable from the power source to the card.

My desktop gateway 3 series does not have a video card.....I would like to add one....is it hard to do so ??I want to buy a geforce 9600 or greater...

It is not so difficult as it seems to be.
First ensure that your computer meets the system requirement for installing a particular Video Card. You can get these details on the box of that card.
Once you are ready with all the details and the compatible card, follow the instructions as under:

  1. Turn off your computer and disconnect the power chord
  2. Open the Cover of your computer Tower.
  3. Disconnect the monitor cable from the Onboard VGA
  4. Locate the compatible card slot.
  5. GEForce 9600 would require a pci express slot
  6. Match the notch on the card with the Card slot and insert the card with a slight push.
  7. Fix the card to cabinet with a screw on top
  8. Connect the Monitor cable to the newly installed Video card
  9. Close the cover
  10. Connect the Power cable
  11. Restart the computer
  12. Your operating system will detect the new Video card and prompt you for drivers
  13. Installed the necessary drivers from the CD provided with the Video card
  14. Finish the installation and reboot the system
That's it you have a new Video card installed !!

Please let me know if you need any further help in regards to this.

Thank you for choosing Fixya

Error message on Syncmaster- check signal cable

sounds like it might be a graphics card. if u have an old graphics or vidio card, open the case and remove your card then install the old one. if it works now youll know your card is bad. If u have an old video card and an open pci slot install it and move the monitor cable to the old video card plugin. if it works now same thing your graphics card is bad. to know which card to remove just remember which one the monitor is plugged into.

Output problem for Hollywood Plus

http://www.sigmadesigns.com/public/Support/pdf_files/user%20guides/hwp_man.pdf This is the User's Guide to install. A google search also turns up drivers for this device - you might want to download those first. And it appears there is a specific manner in which to install and cable this card. Since it is a used card it is possible that the card is bad. Did you connect S-Video from the card to S-Video on the TV, or did you get the S-Video to Composite cable converter? Apparently brand new it comes with the converter cable.
