The most simple way is to just go to the setting on your roku, and do a factory reset.

When i had to change modem my roku will not work.

If your attempting to connect your Roku Streaming Player to a new modem/router, which has wireless capabilities, and you know the network password... You can simply connect your Roku device through the on-screen menu of your device. Just scroll down to the settings choice of the onscreen menu of your Roku device on your Television. The first choice under "Settings" should be "Network," and the next two choices when you click on Network will be "Wireless," and " Wired."
If you're connecting using an either-net cable, make sure the Ethernet cable is connected to both to Your Roku device, and modem/router, then Choose "Wired," and Roku should connect to the Modem/Router.
If you choose to connect to the network wirelessly, choose "Wireless."
Wireless will give you the current status of any connection, and at this point you can choose "Set up new WiFi connection." There you will find an option to scan for all available, or visible, wireless networks. After scanning you will get a list of visible WiFi networks, and if they're "Open" or "Secured." Your network will most likely be the strongest signal, and first in the list. When you choose your network, you will be asked to enter the network password... When done, hit connect/enter...
If your network is secured, and you don't know the password, let me know which model modem you have, and I should be able to walk you through obtaining, or resetting the password.

Roku, How To Setup a Roku Player

You want to try the Roku player so you can stream NetFlix to your TV over your home internet connection. It can be a bit of a hair pulling experience to set one up. So I'll try and make it as easy as it can be. First; Once you receive your player, and connect it to your TV. You need to get your new player on to your home network, be sure you have a router with wireless capability's. You will need to know the name of your home network, and you will need to know your WEB key or the pass key to secure your access into your home network. To do this, go to "Settings" (on the Roku menu) then scroll thru the menu until you see "Network", press network, look for your home network and press on it, then put in the WEB key to access your home network router. Remember after each step unplug the Roku for 10 to 20 seconds to set the memory.(may take more than 1 time with some players) NEXT; Go to www.Roku.com internet site and set up your account with them, they will need info on how to bill you if, you use a pay chanel. So they will need some bank account info, Or you can use PayPal. Next On the Roku "My Account" page, down at the right bottom of the page you will see the "Link Player" button, follow this to input your Link code, or go to http://owner.roku.com/link to input the code. Then go to the Roku menu screen and finish the setup with your Link Code. This will now activate your new Roku player. Next you will want to go to NetFlix and set up an account with them. Same thing here, they need bank account info to bill you, if you stay past the free demo time limit. Now go back to your TV, Roku menu and scroll thru the menu to press on NetFlix, here you will go thru the Menu to get another link code. This time it will come on the TV, Roku menu to go back and put that code in your NetFlix account to activate your Roku player with NetFlix. Now in the process of all this, you may have to unplug your Roku player after each link code to set it into memory. This causes a lot of folks to have some trouble as they do not, "Turn Off" the Roku after they put in the network key, the Roku link code, then again after they put in the NetFlix link code. One last bit of help. Do not create a large Instant Queue on your NetFlix account over 50. This causes problems with the memory usage in the Roku player, and It can keep NetFlix from loading. Hope this helps FixYa up.

On my Roku I made a mistake and pressed the FI-FI instead of Internet and now it wont let me change

It's not clear what the problem is. If you setup the Roku for wireless and you want a wired connection go back to the settings menu and select wired. If the is not the problem provide more information so I can help you.

Roku will not find my network

Try moving your Roku closer to your wireless router for a better signal.( Try scanning for networks again with your Roku, through the wireless settings window) If your wireless router is set to hidden mode, you will need to login to your router, and temporarily change it's mode to visible while connecting your Roku device. Once you've connected successfully, you can change the router back to hidden mode.

Roku 3 hdcp

Hello... I searched the internet and found this. I hope this helps...

To resolve the "HDCP unauthorized. Content disabled" issue, try these steps:
  1. If you are trying to stream 4K Ultra HD content when you see the purple screen, review the instructions for setting up your Roku player for 4K. Go to the next step if you continue to see a purple screen.
  2. On both your Roku player and your TV or AVR, unplug each end of the HDMI cable.
  3. Power off your TV and your Roku player and unplug their respective power supplies.
  4. Reconnect both ends of the HDMI cable, pushing them firmly, all the way in.
  5. Reconnect your TV and your Roku player to their power supplies and power them on.
  6. Try viewing the video again.
If the above did not resolve your issue, try these additional suggestions:
  • Try a different HDMI input on your TV.
  • Try using a different HDMI cable (less than 6 feet if available), just to make sure the cable you are currently using does not have any defects.
  • If you are using an HDMI switch or AVR, try connecting the Roku player directly to the TV.
  • Try another TV, if possible.
  • If you are using a computer monitor, try using a TV, if possible.
  • Try using different Display Settings on your Roku player. You can find these settings under Settings >Display type.
  • If this is the first time you are seeing this HDCP purple screen after setting up your Roku player, ensure that your TV and/or AVR supports HDCP. Contact your equipment manufacturer for more information.

Can't find roku.com/link to enter code

Make sure you have selected the correct connect type - wired or wireless.

Step 3. Let's turn it on and get started! Connect the power adapter into the Roku player and the wall outlet. The Roku player will boot up and display the following sequence of screens:
  • Roku - starting, please wait.
  • Roku - launching home screen.
  • Welcome to the Roku player.
    • Press "OK" to begin.
  • Settings - you will be given 2 options to connect the player to your router:
    • Wired - Ensure one end of the network cable is connected to the network port on the back of the Roku player, and the other to an available port on the home router.
      • Click the "wired" option to continue.
    • Wireless - on the subsequent screens, you will select your wireless network name and enter security password for your wireless network.
      • Click the "wireless" option to continue.
  • Upon successful network connection, the Roku player will then automatically obtain and install the latest software. After the software update the player will reboot.

Step 4: Let's complete the guided setup!
Just follow the on-screen instructions.
  • After the restart, you will be asked to select your time zone.
  • Change to your correct time zone then click "done".
  • The next screen will display a unique code to link your Roku player.
  • Open a browser session on a computer.
  • Go to www.roku.com/link.
  • Enter the code displayed on the Roku and TV.
  • Log into Roku account or create a new Roku account to complete linking process.
