How do I fix a Canon MP460 printer that feeds multiple sheets at a time, even for a one-page document, causing a paper jam?

Assumed you have cleaned out the feeding slot and sprockets that turn the feeder wheels. Often there's some piece of paper or gunk. One option that likely applies to most printers -- from another HP online source: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00190540&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en

  1. Look for paper that might have jammed inside the product. Use a flashlight to carefully view the areas around the rollers. Remove all traces of paper found.
  2. Wipe the rubber paper-feed rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled or bottled water. Rotate the rollers up carefully to clean all the way around.
  1. Look for the paper pick roller farther inside the rear access area. The paper pick roller
IMPORTANT : The paper pick roller is a bit more difficult to reach; however, it is the most important part to clean. Make sure to clean it thoroughly. If this roller is not clean, the issue will likely continue.
  2. Clean the paper pick roller with a cotton swab moistened with distilled or bottled water. Apply a moderate amount of pressure to make sure that you remove all debris. Clean the roller thoroughly all the way around. Figure 8: Clean the paper pick roller

  3. Make sure that the rollers on the rear access door or duplexer are clean and in good condition. If any are missing, stuck, or loose, replace the rear access door or duplexer with a new one. Figure 9: Rear access door rollers

  4. Allow the rollers to dry completely, and then replace the rear access door or duplexer. Slide the rear access door or duplexer into place, and then gently push it in until it clicks or snaps into place.

Make sure you fan the paper before you put it in the input tray.
Make sure the curl of the paper is down. (Hold the paper up by one corner, there will be a definite curl to the paper).

Open the printer driver status window.
The printer driver settings such as paper type and position of the paper thickness lever are displayed in the Settings Preview on the left side of the printer driver screen.
Display the Settings Preview and check the specified settings.
To set the paper thickness lever on the printhead carrier:
With the printer on, raise the top of the printer so that the printhead/ink cartridge carrier is centered. Make sure the paper thickness lever is in the paper position and not in the envelope position.
This is the only thickness adjustment.

My HP LaserJet 3050 is grabbing 2 pages when it prints. Can I fix this?

Clean the pick up rollers with a soapy damp cloth.
Throw that paper away and put in paper from a new unopened pack. There is also an answer here.

What is service code 6000?

Hello Richard Miller

The error that you have, it means that your printer has a paper jam, this is the error appears in you computer, may be in the printer have the next error number. P3 followed E3

If you are writing this review, it is because they believe you have a paper jam, if they have seen and removed yourself.

Principally printers and Canon, in many cases the system detects a paper jam, but is not exactly a paper is causing the problem, in many cases can be any object that has entered and is obstructing the passage of the pages.

My first recommendation is to look carefully where they enter the pages on your printer, if necessary use some lighting for better viewing, you might find something there.

If after all get nothing related, follow the steps below to solve your problem. http://www.en.rellenadodecartuchos.com/2015/04/delete-service-error-6000-or-p3-fallowed-e3-canon-pixma-mp240-printer.html

Even then, you can not solve the problem, I recommend the following way, which is to eliminate jam Canon inbox.

To be honest most of the time are other elements that influence paper jams, which can not be determined on the Canon printers.

Paper feeder pulls multiple sheets of paper

PULL ALL PAPER OUT OF MACHINE EVEN THE SUPPLY, UNPLUG OR TURN OFF THE POWER TO THE UNIT, PUT A STACK OF PAPER IN THE SUPPLY TRAY & GENTLY PUSH FORWARD NOT FORCING IT UNTIL IT STOPS. TURN POWER BACK ON & TRY AGAIN. YOU MAY HAVE TO REPEAT THIS 2-4 TIMES BUT IT WORKED FOR MY HP DESKJET F4180 ALL IN ONE.

Miss feeds when print multilpe pages

The paper feed solenoid is sticking, it can be seen thru a hole in the back with the door opened. Not easy to get to, but I have been able to bend the stop tab slightly and run just fine.

Mp460 feeds more than one pages

Hi ...

There is no hardware fault in this perticular situation. This happens because of paper loaded. There are 2 possible resolution to this problem:

I) Fan paper prior to inserting it into the MP460

  1. Remove paper from the ASF.

  2. Open the paper output tray. (See <2> in Figure 1 below.)

  3. Set the paper thickness lever according to the media being used. (See <3> in Figure 1 below.)

Note: For paper thickness lever settings, use the following setings for the media type being used: Right side: Envelopes / T-Shirt transfers. Left side: All other media types.

    * Figure 1

  4. Fan out the sheets of paper so that they do not stick together.

  5. Load paper in the auto sheet feeder with the paper's print side facing up. (See <1> in Figure 2 below.)

  6. Align paper to the right edge of the auto sheet feeder. (See <2> in Figure 2 below.)

  7. Pinch and slide the paper guide to the paper's left side. (See <3> in Figure 2 below.)

My Canon MF3240 picks up too much paper and causes a paper jam every time I print.

If the automatic document feeder picks up multiple pages instead of single sheets, the separator pad inside the automatic document feeder needs to be cleaned.

Paper misfeed

I took it in for repair. I was told that the roller that takes up the paper was bad, The cost to repair it would cost just as much a new printer.
