SC990 means that the hard drive has failed..... It needs to be replaced with a new one or a hard drive from another copier of the same model. Or you can disconnect the finisher.
sc990 is the software problem. replace the HDD of the machine and it should be fine. don't format the hard drive as it might result in laser error code.
The light copies and overtoning is probably caused by the developer going bad. Do you have a service contract on your copier? It's likely time for a whole PM (preventive maintenance) procedure.
The sc990 is probably caused by the copier's condition as well. Once you have the PM done (or at least replace the developer, rebuild the photoconductor unit, and clean or rebuild the transfer unit) the sc990 codes should go away along with the poor copy quality.
sc990 is a non-specific software error. Many times a firmware update will fix it. In the meantime, turning the machine off and back on should reset the code.
If your machine is very dirty or hasn't been serviced in a long time, that could cause the sc990 code as well.
