Help my hp laserjet 5000 printer is showing 50.4 fuser error

follow the following instructions
The Short Cut Method"
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Hold down the [Item-] and [Value-] keys.
3. Now turn the printer on.
4. Wait for RESET MAINTENANCE COUNT to be displayed and then release both keys.
NOTE: Some versions of the LaserJet 5000 will NOT have their maintenance count reset by following the preceding "short cut" method. This is due to the many different formatter board revisions. If the short cut method doesn't reset the maintenance count then you will need to go into Service Mode to manually reset the maintenance count.

The printer is HP LaserJet III . Please - what means the message "50 service " on the panel ? Thank you! MP

A 50.4 code is bad line voltage. Don't plug it in a surge protector.
Any other 50 error is a fuser problem. Turn the printer off for at least 10 minutes. Power it back on. If the error returns, replace the fuser.

Hp 4m shows service error 50

Hello,

The service 50 error indicates a bad fuser assembly. You can get one on Ebay for less than $50. To replace the fuser just open the door on the back of the printer, inside you will see the fuser, unscrew the 2 screws and pull the old one out. Insert the new fuser and screw it down, power on the printer and you should be good to go.

I hope this helps, If so please rate our solution.

HPLaserjet4P - printer service 50 -

Hi,

A 50 Service error is a fuser error. Turn the printer off for 5 to 10 minutes, then turn it back on. If the error is still there, I think your going to need to make a service call you can try reseating the fuser, but be sure to let the fuser cool completely before touching it.
Good Luck the HP Laserjet 4p is a great printer.

50 service problem

Hello,

Please try below solution.

ERROR 50 - Service

A 50 service error can be either a temporary error or a permanent problem requiring service.

Temporary Error: Power off for 20 minutes to allow the capacitor on the DC controller to fully discharge. If you don't allow this capacitor to discharge, you will still get a Error 50 even if you have fixed the problem.  This may clear the error - either temporarily or permanently. If it clears the error it was most likely caused by a low power problem  i.e. low line voltage causing the power supply circuits to drop out of regulation. Low/unstable power (low line voltage, brownout condition).  If it doesn't clear the error you may have one of the problems listed below

On the HP LaserJet 4L/4ML, errors are indicated by a series of indicator lights.  This printer has four lights, Paper Jam, Paper Out, Data, and Online.

If all four lights are on, press and hold the blue panel button to display a secondary light pattern.

An error 50 is indicated by the ready and error lights with the blue panel button pressed.

Turn the printer off for 15 minutes to see if the error clears.  If not, you will need to remove the fuser assembly to perform further checks.  This requires removal of the cover, an unpleasant task, and measurement of the fuser terminals.

Note: THERE ARE FURTHER STEPS TO CHECK THE ISSUE, HOWEVER IT IS NOT RECOMMENED TO CHECK USING YOU  ARE A USER, FURTHER STEPS NEED TO BE DONE ONLY IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE AND INVOLVES MECHNICAL ISSUES OF PRINTER.

For your convienience, I will would like to provide the web link that shows the picture of the scene

link is:

http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/reference/guides/fuser/ex

try the things that are mentioned in web link. If the issue persists, then Printer needs to serviced.

I hope that this should resolve the issue for you.

If you need any further assistance, please let me know. I'll be glad to help you.

Bye.
