I have inherited this from a family member who recently passed away on trying to set up my own account and delete his i have managed to disabled the ipad now ,i must admit ,am not very good with technology.can you help .
The most easy way it's to restore the ipad by a complete erase personal data and start like a new one, on your Mac or PC, open iTunes, complete turn off your ipad, connect the usb cable to your ipad (just the ipad, not the pc), press home button and keep pressing, conect the usb cable to the computer, you must recieve a message that there's an ipad on recovery mode, realesse home button,, press OK on the pc, then on the iTunes screen you must see a button to recover the ipad, proceed, and follow steps,, just remember,, on this procedure, you lost all the info, pictures and music on the ipad, but if you have a restore copy on your PC or MAC, you can recover all the stuff that you previsuly have archiveded.. good luck!!
Do you have access to the iTunes account that this iPad used to use?
If you don't have or don't know, the only solution is getting the tablet to an Apple Store or sending it back to Apple for a factory reset.
If your iPad has become disabled permanently, your only choice will be to reset the iPad in iTunes and restore from a backup. This may seem like punishment, but it is actually for your own protection. If someone stole your iPad and tried to unlock it, the iPad would become permanently disabled, thus keeping the person from getting access to your iPad's data.
How to Restore the iPad From iTunes
Remember to restore the iPad from the same computer you used to sync. If you are using iOS 5.0 and have iCloud set up to backup your iPad, you can also restore from the cloud. Even without restoring from a backup, you can go to the app store and install any app you have previously purchased for free.
Hope this helps a bit.

Try connecting it to iTunes, turning off the ipad, then hold both the lock and the home button for 10 seconds, then relese the lock button while continuing to hold the home button until iTunes recognizes the iPad. Then you should be able to reset it without problem.

If your son cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your iPad using the computer you last synced your iPad with. Using the last computer you synced with allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync all your data, apps, etc.
To begin the process, connect the iPad to your computer using the USB cable or lightning cable. Open iTunes and select the restore option.
If you restore on another computer, you can still unlock the device and remove the passcode, but your data and apps will be wiped.
Hope that helps!
