Started washer, heard 'pop', water started coming out of bottom

Thats not good. Sounds like the seal blew out. Inside the unit there are seals that seal up the parts where they are bolted together. Also there is the pressure connection that could have blown out as well. To determine which is the problem you will need to dissassemble it.
