SOURCE: print preview makes excel 2007 stop working

The Smart Technologies Notebook Version 11 software certainly seems to be the culprit. Taking the cue from Bob Cochran, this is what is what I did and the problem has stopped. Open Excel and click on the Office button at the top left. Then Click on Excel options. Click on Add-ins. In the "Manage" window, select COM Add-ins and click Go. In the COM Add-ins window uncheck SMARTInk-Excel-All and click OK and "poof" problem gone!!!

Remove page breaks in excel

We would appreciate if you share with us your Excel version as well so that we can give you a more specific solution to your issue. In the meanwhile, you can refer to the following steps to delete a manually-inserted page break in Excel 2007, Excel 2010, or Excel 2013:

(Important: You cannot delete page breaks that Excel has added automatically. Adding manual page breaks, changing the page orientation, or adjusting column widths and row heights may affect automatically-inserted page breaks.)

1. Select the worksheet that you want to modify.
2. Go to "View" tab, then go to "Workbook Views" section, and click "Page Break Preview".
(Note: You can also click "Page Break Preview " on the status bar)
(Important: If you get the "Welcome to Page Break Preview" dialog box, click "OK". To avoid seeing this dialog box every time you go to "Page Break Preview" view, select "Do not show this dialog again" check box and click "OK".)
3. Now do one of the following:
a) To delete a vertical page break, select the column to the right of the page break that you want to delete.
b) To delete a horizontal page break, select the row below the page break that you want to delete.
(Note: You cannot remove automatic page breaks)
4. Go to "Page Layout", then go to "Page Setup" section, and click "Breaks"
5. Click "Remove Page Breaks"
(Important: You can also remove a page break by dragging it outside of the page break preview area {to the left or right for vertical page breaks, or up or down for horizontal page breaks}. If you cannot drag page breaks, make sure that the drag-and-drop feature is enabled. To check the status of your drag-and-drop feature, click office button , click "Excel Options" tab, click "Advanced", go to "Editing Options" and make sure you have checked the "Enable fill handle and cell drag-and-drop" option.)

To refer to a pictorial explanation of the above steps, you can refer to "Delete a manually inserted page-break" section on the following Microsoft Support Page:

Prints blank page

Have you checked the print que
Printer problems can be a real hassle.
From time to time, due to document layout or settings on your computer, in your software of choice, or even on your printer, a blank page may get "printed" with the rest of your document.
Fortunately, this issue is a simple one to troubleshoot.
Click "Print Preview" when you are finished with your document and ready to print.
Observe your document.
If you see an extra, blank page, you have created a second page.
To delete the second page, close Print Preview, go back into the document and eliminate any blank lines in your documents that you may not need.
You may also find an inadvertent page break at the end of your document.
Place your cursor on its symbol and delete it.
Locate the symbol by clicking on the Show Formatting paragraph icon in the toolbar.

Circumvent this "ghost page" if you do not see a second (or additional) blank page in Print Preview.

Specify the number of pages you wish to print, within the Print dialogue box.
This is typically done by selecting the "Print From" option, then entering the page numbers desired.
If your document happens to be ten pages (without, of course, that final blank page), then enter in the "Print From" field the numbers "1-10".
This will print only pages 1 through 10, without an eleventh (blank) page.

Hello

Before actually printing your report, use the Print Preview function to see how it will look. If there are blank pages, you will see them in Print Preview.

To use the Print Preview function, simply open the report, click on the "File" menu and choose "Print Preview" from the file menu. You will then see your report just as it will look on the printed page.

Scroll through the report for blank pages. If you see blank pages, it is an indication that the data on the report is wider than the paper you are using. You can use your printer properties to change the size of the paper if you wish. If you have access to legal-size paper, you may be able to print the report on the larger paper. If legal-size paper is not an option, you will need to adjust the margins so that the blank pages are eliminated.

To adjust the margins of your report, click on the "File" menu and choose "Page Setup" from the drop-down box. Go to the Margins tab and adjust the margins as needed. It may take a bit of experimentation to get the margins just right; toggling back and forth between Print Preview and Page Setup will make the process faster and easier.

Click on the "Page" tab and choose either portrait or landscape orientation. Changing the orientation to landscape may allow all the fields to print on the same page, thus eliminating the blank pages and saving your paper.

Try to do a print preview from excel.
What you see is what you should get since word is working properly.

If the print preview is leaving stuff out, you need to modify the page layout in page setup

Excel print preview problem - the margin does not work

Be sure to apply Service pack 3 for Excel 2000.

Also, be sure to have selected the correct printer for printing before or during print preview.
An incorrectly recognized printer could cause problems.
Try reinstalling your printer driver. If your printer is a USB printer, unplug the USB, wait a moment and plug it back it (This reloads the printer driver)
More information like printer model, service pack installed for Excel2000, what exactly is the margin doing, things like that, can help me diagnose.

Extra blank page on ricoch printer

There could be a couple reasons...
  1. "Separator page" or "cover page" options could be enabled. The easiest way to find this option is to print a menu map from your machine. These are managed from the configuration page on the printer display
  2. Your printing from a terminal application, no fix...the terminal apps often send a (page break/ carriage return) at the end of jobs to make sure the page is printed and not held in queue.
  3. Check your settings in Office and print setup window - Word, Excel, etc. all have a "Seperator Page" and "Cover Page" options as well.
Hope this helps.
