It is a common 2.5 volt ,3 amp "hobby" bulb. I have seen these at Lowe's at one time,,,but should be able to find these at almost any hobby or toy train shop. Take the old one with you to match it up.

SOURCE: Our Tasco 1200X ZOOM MI200ZFC microscope will not

Have an electrician check the circuit. It is probably just a faulty contact, blown fuse or bad lightbulb.

SOURCE: my tasco microscope light will not turn on and the battery pack

sometimes when a battery causes corrosion inside something, you can clean off the springs or contacts where the battery goes. if i can, when that stuff happens i use sandpaper or something like that to clean the contacts. you cant always get sandpaper where you need it though. just try to find something to like scrape stuff off if its on there

Most of the Tasco microscopes that operated on batteries used AA batteries.

Where can I buy the light bulb for a 1200 zoom microscope in the state of Indiana

Microscope bulbs can be hard to find at a local hardware or electrical store in you area. The best, and cheapest solution is to go to http://www/bulbtronics.com. You will need to know the specification of the bulb in you are to buy online, but if not, their customer service folks are very good at helping you determine what those specifications are, and what bulb you will need to purchase.

I need a replacement bulb for my tasco 1200 zoom microscope kit. Where can I purchase one?

If you have a manual for the kit it may have a parts list. The bulb may have a part number on it , or the bulbs rating such as 2.5 Volts / 270 ma. Radio Shack should be able to help you. Just remove the bulb or take the unit with you to the store. The bulb is probably less than $2.

Fixing one

You must detach the bottom cover of the base of the microscope by taking off the 4 or 5 screws that keep it attached. That should reveal the wiring to the socket and bulb base.
