WHAT IS THE RAM AND WHERE IS IT SITTING IN MODEL EL1850G-42W AND HOW DO YOU GET TO IT TO CORRECT THE WAY IT SITS.
Install: Wood floor is best to stand on.
Worst: Carpet adds static potential!
Static can destroy your components inside your computer.
Make sure to grab a hold of your case before, discharge static.
You can choose to install one or 2 sticks of ram.
Image of what your main board might look like.
Dual channel would be both sockets with same size sticks of ram.
Example: 2 sticks of DDR3 at 1GB (1 Gigabyte per stick)

RAM stands for Random Access Memory. It sits on the mother (Main) board which can be easily recognized. Its a flat piece of paxolin with chips mounted in a row either on both side of the paxolin or only on one side and its about 6 inches in length and 1 - 1.5 inches in height. The base with multiple teeth like contacts (gold color) sits on the base socket (IDE) At both ends of the IDE socket, there is a locking clip and to remove the ram, the clips must be pushed away from the lock position. Most boards have two of these IDE base, some have three or more.
