Make sure sound is turned on by flipping small switch on left hand side of phone off of red. and push volume button

"An icon of the ringer with a slash through it"?....Usually that means that the ringer is OFF.If you're sure that the ringer is in fact ON , then check your profile.If it's in the Silent or Meeting profile, the ringer is switched off by default and it goes to vibrate.

The iPhone, along with many other phones, has two speakers. The first is the on ear speaker and the second is the speaker at the bottom for playing music and ringtones. The speaker at the bottom could be broken so to check this, just try and use your headphones to play music. If that doesn't work either then it must be a setting on the phone so in that case just have a bit of a play with the sound settings.

Hi,

check the left side of your iphone and see if the ringer button is down then raise it up and increase the sound volume. Or go to settings then sounds and check the sound level. Else try to restart your iphone if it doesn't work then the problem might be in your iphone speaker.

It could be that your selected ringtone is inaudible. Go into your settings and test the selected ringtone for calls. If you can't hear it, try another. Also check your ringer volume setting. It may be all the way down.

The switch on the left side of the iPhone turns off the ringer and usually sets your phone to vibrate mode, but if your iPhone's vibrate setting is also disabled the phone will instead be set to silent mode. My iphone 3g does not ring, i can hear the ring if i have on ear phones or an ear piece. the signal seems to be okay. the settings seem to be correct.

If you can't hear the ringer when there is an incoming call to your iPhone 3G, you may have overlooked whether or not the ring/silent switch is set to silence the ringer. The ring/silent switch is above the volume switch. If you can see orange on this switch, it's set to vibrate. Switch it to ring and you should be all good.
If this doesn't help, you may want to consider resetting the iPhone.

Hi,What causes phones not to ring out is when the ringer that makes you hear a tone when someone calls is damaged and does not work properly again.

The ringer is located inside the phone.You can get access into the phone by disassembling the phone with a phone screw. It a little bit technical when unscrewing the phone.Just be careful not to damage the phone.
