I lost the remote for our Blue ray DVD player, how can I play movies? there is no play button on the box itself.
If you have lost the remote controller for your Samsung Blu-ray player, you can buy a universal remote as the alternative which can be generally used for all kinds of Blu-ray players in various brands.
you can just buy an Android-based phone, and download a piece of free remote control apps as well as installing it on your phones.
You can check on this:

SOURCE: REMOTE CODE FOR PHILLIPS DVD DVP3140
I don't know if this will work for you since your Philips universal remote is a different model. I tried all the codes listed for a Philips DVD player in my Philips SRU3004/27 universal remote manual. Two of them partially worked (wouldn't let me scan forwards and backwards). The last one they listed did work, code 1214. I suggest trying all the codes in the handout that comes with the remote for Philips DVD players. Make sure each number you press registers (the indicator light on the remote will blink). Philps also lists these codes on their web site. Good luck!
