Why will my Miele W1918 will not perform spin cycle?

The water inlets and outlets seem to be working fine. The "Rinse 1-2" light comes on and flashes. The machine continues through the cycles to the end but never spins. It does agitate during the wash cycle.

Flashing rinse light is a drive fault. No motor action. If it's an earlier model it would be the motor brushes. Later model will be the electronic which controls the motor.

Main wash light flashing is a heating fault. You either have a faulty temp sensor (NTC) or the pressure chamber has blocked and the heater element has popped.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean. There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

Your filter of the water inlet valve is accessible outside the machine; it is at the water entry point. Close your faucet & check this out; this gets clogged often.

Hope i am helpful...... Click on 'thanks for trying' if not helped, your prob will be back for someone else to solve.

my w830 is doing exactly the same thing.

I am usually pretty good at fixing these sort of things so if/when I solve it I will post back here.

I think it is a motor fault - most likely the motor brushes are worn out.

Pete,
When I had this problem I went along the entire water inlet route and verified flow. Water flow entering the soap dispenser tray should be very robust & audible; if not, you have a flow restriction or low pressure, flashing red light or not.

I'm stating the obvious because I actually missed some filter elements the first time I tried. Disconnect inlet hose at plastic fitting on chassis and verify your flow there. Then look inside the inlet barb and use a small pair of channel lock or lineman's pliers to grasp the tab on the inverted "basket" and pull it straight out. These filters can be packed full of sand and small gravel inside--they were in my case.

Good luck,
Adam

Miele w1918 check water light flashes and the machine will no start washing.

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter In this case the inlet filter and inlet valve is a suspect.

Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

Miele W1926 check inlet light flashes at he end of rinse fill

Hi Yugin. That indicates your machines water inlet valve is faulty.(Means it's taking less water then normal)Please check this steps & do it fast before water inlet is finishes:1-Turn your machine on & run empty with pre-wash cycle first.2-Please ajar the detergent drawer & check runing water on compartment one 3-Please press pre-wash button & compare the running water volume on compartment two.If the running water volume 1 is less then 2 or vs.water valve needs to be replace. That's causing problem.I hope that helps.Thanks.

I have a Miele W1918 washer which has worked perfectly for a decade. Now there is not enough water to fill the tub during the first 'rinse' phase of normal cycles or the 'separate rinse' cycle. The machine...

I have exactly the same problem. I am currently getting around the issue by letting the machine do the washing then at the end of that cycle do a manual rinse cycle.

Miele G646 dishwasher keeps trying to pump out

Had a similar problem with an 846, but with the inlet outlet lamp flashing. the bottom tray had filled with watedr froma dodgy seal. I switched off and disconnected the electricity. Removed the bottom front cover below the door (2 screws behind the pretty kickboard which also had to come off). The bottom of the machien was a big puddle. I dried this out with paper twowel, put the machine back together and it ran fine. I am going to replace the pump seals now as the machine seems otherwise OK.

Good luck with yours. rupertvdpP

Intuitive eco Iw811 Rinse 1 no water coming thru!

the 1st rinse light is normally set to "spray rinse", this means the machine will pump out the water, spin at medium speed then pulse cold water into the machine, this occurs for about 2 mins, then the machine will spin out, and advance for the final rinse which is a deep rinse.

Inlet/outlet light comes on

Machine is possibly not filling with correct amount of water if this light comes on early in the cycle

Intermittent hot water valve not opening

problem may be low water pressure. try putting in a y-piece so cold water is supplied to both valves. only effect will be that wash cycle will be a bit longer
