Wii remote works with normal batteries but not with battery pack
Recently purchased a new wii controller, put normal batteries in it and it works fine. Put the battery pack in it and nothing happens, not even a flicker of the lights. The battery pack works fine in my other remote, fully charged etc, so i am at a loss. Anyone any ideas.

A lot of people have trouble synchronizing their Wii Remotes to their Wii console. I have written a short tutorial on how to do this.<br /><br />Figure out which scenario is similar to yours and proceed with the solution-<br /><br />1) When you turn on the Wii console and press any button on the remote no lights light up at all. This is because the remote is dead, you must replace the batteries in the battery compartment on the underside of the remote. If the controller is using a charge pack you need to put the controller on its charger.<br /><br />2) When you turn on the Wii console and press a button on the controller all four lights blink a couple times then turn off. This means the controller is not synchronized. If your controller has ever been previously synchronized all you need to do is press the 1 and 2 buttons at the same time and it will sync up.<br /><br />3) If option 2 doesn't work then this means you are preforming a first time synchronization with the remote. While the Wii console is turned on you should open the little compartment that is just below the disc tray. Then you should press the little red button. After pressing the red button you should open your Wii Remotes battery compartment, remove the batteries and press a similar little red button inside of the compartment. Put the batteries back into the controller and the controller should be synchronized! <br /><br />If none of these solutions are working then the problem is a technical issue with either the Wii remote or the Wii system, you should contact technical support for more information.<br /><br />I hope this helped with the synchronization of Wii Remotes!<br />
Have you ever used batteries in your wii remote because as soon as you put normal batteries in the wii remote instead of charging the rechargeable batteries that come with the remote then you have to use batteries. I have done this now i need to use AA batteries in my remote. If you haven't and you just have the battery pack then make sure to see if it charges on them charging things and if it don't charge then you need to take it to a repair shop. Hope this helped :)
Yes they should light up blue when they are charging. Double check and make sure your docking station is still plugged in and turned on.
Most Docking stations are third party accessories, meaning, they were not manufactured by Nintendo. Some of them do not work very well.
If all else fails, remove the rechargeable battery pack from the Wii Remote and put regular AA batteries inside of it. The Wii Remote should work just fine.
Personally, I prefer to use rechargeable AA batteries rather than charging packs or docking stations. The charge packs/docking stations just never seem to work as well as they're supposed to. The rechargeable AA's work great and they're much more versatile since they're not limited to use in the Wii.
It's not a battery problem, it needs to connect to your Wii. It's really picky about this for some reason. First step, turn your wiimote around and take off the lid, where you'd see the batteries. In it you'll find a really small red button. Second step, go to your wii and find a small panal in the front, next to where you put your CD in. There should be a red button there too. While your Wii is on, point your wiimote to it and press those two buttons at the same time. Hold it down and just wait several moments. If it doesn't work, than press the buttons a few times to see if that'll get it to work. Again if it's stubborn, reboot your wii and try again.
If you have had the "battery" for a long time, it could be that it can no longer carry a charge. Rechargeable batteries' charge grow shorter over time. If you still use the Wii/Wii U regularly, I suggest rechargeable AA batteries+charger (If you don't have them already). AA batteries work in other devices so even if you stop using the Wii, the batteries will still work in remote controls, clocks, flashlights etc unlike a WiiMote Battery pack.
That doesn't seem right, i have rechargeable battery packs for my remotes, it works fine for me, maybe you might be overcharging them, it could be a possibility.
open the battery cover on the wii remote you want to make player 1 press the red button while it is facing the sensor bar. Then open the memory card door on the front of the wii and press the red button on the top. the remote should flash a few times then it will be your new player 1 remote. You can only do this if you have 2 AA batteries in the remote. It will not work with the rechatgeable batterie packs because the remote must have power while you re-synch it.
Make sure the Wii is plugged in correctly and the light on the power button is on.
open the small panel in the front of the Wii and open the battery panel at the bottom of the Wii remote
and press the red buttons together
If you had been suffering from batteries lasting a little while then Nintendo will replace the controller for free
