Hello Friend, If the igniter is glowing continally and not clicking off, then your therm-disc is definately bad. It's attached to the burner shroud right across from the igniter. It reads the heat off the igniter through a little rectangular hole in the shroud. Replace and problem should be solved.

If igniter is glowing and then cools down and then begins to glow again in a repeating manner then I would say that the thermo-disc is good and you need to replace the gas valve coils. coils are easy to change, they are located on top of gas valve, two screws hold them in place. An easy fix.

Happy to help, Tim.

Hello Friend, I also want to let you know that if you replaced your igniter and it's not glowing at all, Then your problem is a thermal fuse located under the back cover of your dryer. Just remove back cover of dryer and look down where the air blows out. Now, just to the left where all the wires are you will see a white plastic part with two wires plugged into it. This part is called a thermal fuse. Just remove these wires and replace the thermal fuse. Happy to help, Tim. And please don't forget to give me your rating for my help.

Maytag Neptune dryer model MDG9700 does not heat up. When dryer is on, I can feel very light heat and there is a slight burning odor. Drum spins and dryer appears to work as usual.

Check you flame. If the flame is very short (less than half way down the burner tube, it can be a gas pressure regulator failure. They are adjustable but that usually indicated it is about to fail. Make sure the flame ignites every time you hear the relay and solenoid valve click. The is a small panel on the front that can be removed to see the burner and the pressure regulator. The is a glow igniter that comes on several seconds before the gas is admitted. Confirm that works. Check at the dryer vent whether you smell gas once and a while which would be an indication of a failure to ignite.

Repair t 4000

You did not state whether the flame ignites or not. If it doesn't, the check to make sure the gas line to the dryer is not turned off. You should hear the gas valve "click" while the ignite is glowing.
You can "crack" the gas line at the value to make sure gas is going to the valve.
If you have gas at the value, and do not hear the click, then the gas valve is not opening. Either the valve or the controller is not working.
If you are getting a flame but it goes out quickly, then it is possible the flame sensor is bad.
If you do not feel comfortable doing this, call a qualified appliance repairer technic

Drum rotates no heat, igniter dosent start

While the drum is rotating you should hear the CLICK associated with the gas valve assembly powering up to give out a blast of heat. If ya don't hear no click check the duct fuse. Right next to the control thermostat. If it is blown it kills the circuit to the gas valve assembly. If that fuse is good and the control is also good, then check the flame sensor for continuity, If it is open then the ignitor won't glow. The ignitor must glow and change in resistance then the flame sensor must open up and kill power to the ignitor so that power will be shifted to them coils on the gas valve.

My gas dryer will not get warm

Can you hear the flame come on at all? If you can hear the flame come on in the beginning but then as time goes on it doesn't, you need to replace both coils (solenoids) on the gas valve.

Take the front panel off and watch the operation of the dryer. You should see the glow from the ignitor come on and get very hot, then hear the click of the coil releasing the gas, which will allow the flame to ignite. If you see the flame come on, stay there and keep an eye on the time.

After about 5 minutes if the coils click but the flame doesn't come on, you've just proved you need the coils.

If you have a meter you can check for continuity or ohm out the ignitor to see if that is your culprit. A less likely repair would be to replace the flame sensor.

Dryer is not getting hot

These dryers have an auto spark ingnitor just like a gas stove. They do go bad and need replacement. Upon turning on your dryer, you should hear the ignitor click at least once to ignite the burner. If not I would check the continuity to that ignitor first

My kemore dryer model 11071812001 not drying clothes

Sounds like the problem is the solenoid coils on your gas valve. easy to replace and inexpensive + common. their are 2 coils on the valve that have 2 wires each going to them. Let me know if you have any other questions,
