If the charge is depleted and the device is not taking a charge, it won't turn on. No juice, no activation. Why isn't it taking a charge? Several possibilities. 1) The charger might be bad or the cable of the charger defective. Solution: try another charger. 2) The power port on the Azpen may be damaged, such as having a bent pin or a pin broken off. That might require "surgery", i. e. part replacement. Understandably, the cost of repair by a tech could exceed the value of the device. 3) Bad battery. It uses a 7000mAh lithium ion battery. Solution: Battery replacement. 4) Some other component failure. You might have a chat at the following support page. https://www.azpenpc.com/pages/support
To perform a factory data reset on your Azpen tablet, you need to backup files first from your device because it will delete all data. If you are through, you have to switch it off. Hold the volume button while you press the power button for ten times. Then press the reset button four times. Then release all buttons when it switches on. If you see the Android symbol and triangle on the screen, use your volume keys to navigate through the recovery menu. Select Wipe data/Factory data reset. Use power button. Select delete all data. Then select reboot now.

Failure to charge is due to 1 of 3 problems. The charger, the connector or the battery. Try changing the charger or use your computer's USB port. If that doesn't solve your problem, it can only be a bad connector or the battery. Since both of these are not user replaceable without voiding the warranty, you will need service. Batteries age and wear down. How old is your tablet and is it still under warranty?
Using a PC that can access the web. There are sites that have all the 'factory' software in about 10 different files. You connect to the PC using a USB port, and then 'shell' or 'command' into the Azpen with it powered on. you can then reload the software and should be good.
Another site that has Azpen support is :
